Mostly I see the heartleaf gingers - Hexastylis arifolia and, to a lesser extent, H. virginica. That’s at least three genera with plants whose roots are supposed to taste similar, and that are known as ginger. Those two, which are at least closely related, in the same family, and Zingiber, in a different order, of which Z. officinale is the standard culinary ginger. Additional fun fact: cardamom, turmeric, galangal, and other spices are in the Zingiberaceae family, too!
