I like planes for their airframes, yes, but also for their personalities, their capabilities, limitations, goals, and priorities. But most of all I like aircraft for the intimate fact that a plane is not a whole agentic being; that it needs a pilot and an airfield and a maintenance crew to operate is half the point.
