ZA in general has had some wild Lore Drops. Not just in the Museum (though that is pretty big), but in general.
Here's some of the more interesting Lore we got from the game:
-The Ingo and Volo stuff.
-Some interesting details about the members of Team Galaxy, the members of the Clans, and average life in Hisui (most of which I sadly cannot remember off the top of my head).
-Each one of the Pokémon hieroglyphs in Legends: Arceus is part of an alphabet that can actually be deciphered and read if you know what each symbol/word means (and how their meaning changes when paired with other symbols).
-Galar and Kalos had a similar relationship to England and France (which is the least shocking Lore reveal, but at least we have confirmation of that theory).
-The Legends Arceus protagonist's fate is unknown, but they probably returned, since Laventon's Pokédex was found a few years before Z-A in a shack somewhere in Sinnoh.
-AZ bore witness to the Darkest Day. (As in, he probably traveled Galar and personally witnessed it.) There's no confirmation that his actions actually caused the Darkest Day, but he was there to see it happen.
-Zygarde has some kind of connection to Necrozma. (Probably just from absorbing some of its energy while in Alola and thus getting a heck of a lot stronger-but even then, Holy Shit, what a reveal.)
ohhhh nooooo if this has lore about average life in hisui i may have to actually play it... my detailssss...

I don’t know why but I suddenly can’t stop thinking about Irida and Her choices in Ounce of Prevention. Feel free to just ignore this if you’re still planning to update it someday, absolutely no pressure, but I’m just so curious as to where her arc would have taken her.
Thanks for infecting my brain btw, genuinely.
OH YEAH OK THIS IS FUN! uh. i don't wanna say i'm Not gonna update oop ever again but we are firmly in the malev mines rn and all my writing energy is going to other projects, lol. and yeah regardless of whether i do go back to it or not, it would probably still be fun to yap rn about the stuff i had plotted out!!
(contd. PLA character rambing + OOP spoilers(???) under the cut)
so irida's arc is, probably obviously, kind of inextricably tied up with adaman's. they both develop as mirrors of each other. like, they do not get along as people because they have been arguing nonstop for years, BUT, by the same token, they have been fighting for years & so know each other really well, on a surface "i can predict your next words with almost perfect accuracy" way. and the rift crisis in OOP is, even moreso than in canon, the impetus for them to finally work out their differences and bond and etc.
and in irida's case this means, like. she is someone who is and has been under enormous pressure to Be A Good Leader. not just for her people, but for The Pearl Clan as an entity, as a body of tradition and faith. she has to do everything right, make all the right calls, be wise and just and worthy of sinnoh's faith in her. as a consequence she second-guesses herself constantly, and tends to fall back on the guidance of those she views as more experienced than herself... whiiiich is what led directly to her agreeing to imprison ingo. rip. so her arc is abt her recognizing that actually, she can't be a perfect leader all on her own, that trying to force herself into this individualism just leads to her unconsciously trusting the wrong people and getting others hurt.
and like i said, this whole coming to terms with her flaws happens parallel to adaman's own arc, bc they were going to be traveling around together for the next solid chunk of the fic (i decided to split all the PLA fetchquests between parties, so adaman and irida were going to be plate collecting.) which also means that she's forced to recognize that while adaman is very bad at holding to formality and tradition, and weak on the spiritual side of leadership, he is legitimately very good at managing his people. (likewise, adaman has to recognize that despite irida's youth and lack of confidence, her knowledge of hisui and the clans is deep & she's good at managing that side of things.)
the ultimate resolution of this in the very sketchy outline i have that far was that it comes to light that the clans were formerly one single entity that underwent a fracturing in the last rift crisis, and after all the Character Growth™ (on the part of the leaders and also just sort of everyone in hisui generally), they decide to reunify the clans bc they've realized they are much better leaders as a pair than they are apart. BUT like i said that was a very sketchy outline so it could have changed along the way, who knows !
Can I ask for Ingo and Emmet for that newest ask game? :3
you most certainly can!! (send me a character ask game)
First impression: i actually had skipped the battle subway in bw so when i played pla, my first impression on meeting ingo was "this guy is coded like a cameo from another game. not sure which one tho. anyway he looks like a stuffed animal that went through the washing machine by accident and i just know there is a certain sect of lesbians on tumblr who are going to want to put him in a bug jar." and i was right on all counts. i'm ngl my first emmet impression was probably largely based on fan content before i actually went back to see the canon stuff so it was mostly "damn, giratina (arceus?) should Not have separated these two"
Impression now: DAMN, THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE SEPARATED THESE TWO. ingo is my special lil guy who is duty oriented until it kills him and very competent and unreasonably polite which are all character traits that do in fact make me, personally, wanna put a dude in a bug jar. emmet is. my guy my man he's me he's my everything i'm incapable of talking coherently about him.
Favorite moment: gotta be the only time i have ever bothered to go through the hassle of exporting a whole video clip from my switch when ingo loses to the protag in your first battle. he is so happy about it... when else does he smile that genuinely... waaaahh...
Idea for a story: uh hmm the problem here is all my story ideas are in my pinned or my pitches tag lmfao. i guess one thing i've been rotating is it would be fun to do something else with the oop-canon thing where neither of them fully remember each other but also don't have a ton of spare time to interrogate the situation, bc i think it's a fun take. some other scenario where emmet doesn't even remember that they're twins, they're just both like, "alright, you look exactly like me, that's goddamn weird, but fuck it, we've got bigger problems so let's just work together for now." i like how quickly they fall into lockstep without knowing why. i think it's fun
Unpopular opinion: i know i've said it before but LET THEM KICK ASS! for real! they are hypercompetent pokemon trainers who also manage the cat herding business that is a subway system that doubles as legal wrestling tournaments. they're probably stronger than most gym leaders, if not the elite 4, just by virtue of how much battling they're constantly doing against such a variety of opponents. they're clever and capable of very quick thinking in a wide range of situations and very capable of both reading/understanding and guiding/managing others. they should not be losing to FUCKING WILD POKEMON in basically any scenario. they should be so hard for anyone in hisui to rattle bc none of this is NEW to them. they're just built different. also let emmet specifically be a competent adult i am on my knees begging you
Favorite relationship: can i say each other, is that cheating. i feel like that's a given. it's just good. they are on the same wavelength and ready to back each other up basically all the time and not even getting smote by god itself can change that. OTHER than that i'm a big fan of them w/ the surveyfam. lav and cyllene specifically i think they would all make a fun squad together. fuck, this is what i shoulda said for the story idea section. i want to expand on that like, 5 sentence thing from a while back where they were both in jubilife together along with the protag in a similar situation, bc i think that's a fun idea. kamado's headache is never going away ever again
Favorite headcanon: hmmmmm shit i have too many to choose. does asj qualify as a single headcanon or is that too expansive. oh, this is a random thing, but i still really like the idea that they're like, roxie's uncles or cousins once removed or something, through their birth family that they largely avoid interacting with other than a few people who are mostly chill. they're VERY different wrt personality but roxie's got this unexpected responsible streak when she's arguing with her dad, i think it makes for a fun connection.
pla writers: ok in keeping with the existence of berries and other canon plants in past entries into the series, we have to make sure all these gathering materials are distinct from anything that could be a real-world counterpart. hearty grains, sootfoot roots, etc. this way it's still immediately obvious that the crafting you're doing is with Pokémon World materials and we have plausible deniability for the magical effects they have on-
scarvi writers: fuck you. pineapples are real now.
before legends ZA comes out and totally destroys my going hcs i guess i should say my piece, anyway i think X is the "canonical" game bc fairies, BUT, i also think that, while xerneas has historically been kalos' patron deity, yveltal was actually galar's. and much like how deities irl can get telephoned around over time, while yveltal's power over death was always... present, to galar, it wasn't the ruler of death. it represented conquest and victory, to them. it was only after yveltal fell into its cocoon and was slowly forgotten that the kalosian interpretation of it as death became commonplace.
relatedly, the kalos war that happened 3000ya was a war between it and galar, which ultimately culminated in the firing of the ultimate weapon and the darkest day, which were actually a singular event. and the war was centered on the great crater, and the region around it, which wouldn't become paldea for another thousand years. they were both interested in it bc yveltal and xerneas are both believed to have originated from the crater (see: xerneas' crystal horns) & therefore it's both religiously significant and a source of great physical power—the ultimate weapon was actually built using a scant few fragments of crystal recovered from the crater directly. (though the great crater has always been super impenetrable so they were gathered at great cost from the very upper regions & this is not a feat kalos could probably repeat)
also, it was only after the war ended that zygarde appeared. zygarde's always an enigmatic figure, but in essence it's the crater's cleanup crew. it scavenges divine energy to bring back. this is also why it shows up in alola.

I could say a lot on the various interpretations of Reshiram and Zekrom (Truth is unyielding and doesn't change vs Ideals always changing, Truth is What Something Is vs Ideals is What Something Can Be, and so on), but I can't help but wonder if they were originally considered as Past and Future Legendaries. Like, Past/Future duality is weirdly prevalent in Black and White, what with the cities that look different between both versions, Black City/White Forest, and even the Dragons' designs.
SEE i think what they were aiming for there was not a past/future dichotomy so much as it was a natural/industrial dichotomy, like white forest doesn't seem to be trying to appeal to a past version of the world so much as it's suggesting a harmony with nature that's at odds with black city's urban development. much like reshiram itself doesn't necessarily have any elements that are "of the past" in a way that contrasts with ol' generator-tail over there (and if anything i kind of think resh's own tail was meant to mimic a jet thruster or something but that's very—nvm i just looked at the dex entries it's literally a jet engine. caveat cancelled)
which is like. i think them appealing to opposing views on how humans should develop is cute considering it further cements them as Humanity's Gods in a way that none of the other legends are. the other major legends (i.e. mostly gods) rule over various domains of reality—space/time, land/sea/sky, night/day, etc—but resh & zek's entire domain is the path of humanity. idk. i know i've said this same thing a billion times already but i just think it's a fascinating thesis statement
it's actually kinda funny how the balance of nobles getting frenzied is already a little pearl clan heavy just by virtue of there being an uneven number, but then they also have a ride noble get pseudo-frenzied and rather than it being a diamond clan noble to even things out, it's ursaluna, who's also pearl. that's 4/5 pearl nobles who get some version of frenzied compared to only 2/5 for diamond. almighty sinnoh really said fuck these guys specifically. also a real "sneasler wins by doing nothing" sort of situation here
