“Only in Christ do we find real love, and the fullness of life. And so I invite you today to look to Christ. When you wonder about the mystery of yourself, look to Christ who gives you the meaning of life.”
– Pope John Paul II
“God does not want anyone to be lost; that is why 2,000 years ago, He sent His Son to earth, 'to seek and to save the lost' (Luke 19: 10). And He saved us by His death on the cross. Let no one empty that Cross of its power! Jesus died and rose from the dead to be 'the first-born among many brethren' (Romans 8: 29). In her motherly concern, the Blessed Virgin came here to Fátima to ask men and women 'to stop offending God, Our Lord, who is already very offended'. It is a mother’s sorrow that compels her to speak; the destiny of her children is at stake. For this reason, she asks the little shepherds: 'Pray, pray much, and make sacrifices for sinners; many souls go to hell because they have no one to pray and make sacrifices for them.'”
– Pope St. John Paul II, Beatification of Francisco and Jacinta Marto of Fatima, 2000
“Dear young people, you know that Christianity is not an opinion, nor does it consist of empty words. Christianity is Christ! It is a Person, a living Person! To meet Jesus, to love Him and make Him loved: this is the Christian vocation.”
– Pope St. John Paul II
“A disconcerting conclusion about the most recent period should serve to enlighten us: side-by-side with the miseries of under-development, themselves unacceptable, we find ourselves up against a form of super-development, equally inadmissible, because like the former, it is contrary to what is good and to true happiness. This super-development, which consists in an excessive availability of every kind of material goods for the benefit of certain social groups, easily makes people slaves of 'possession' and of immediate gratification, with no other horizon than the multiplication or continual replacement of the things already owned with others still better. This is the so-called civilization of 'consumption' or 'consumerism', which involves so much throwing-away and waste. An object already owned but now superseded by something better is discarded, with no thought of its possible lasting value in itself, nor of some other human being who is poorer. All of us experience firsthand the sad effects of this blind submission to pure consumerism: in the first place, a crass materialism, and at the same time, a radical dissatisfaction, because one quickly learns—unless one is shielded from the flood of publicity and the ceaseless and tempting offers of products—that the more one possesses, the more one wants, while deeper aspirations remain unsatisfied and perhaps even stifled.”
– Pope John Paul II, Sollicitudo Rei Socialis

Darkness can only be scattered by light. Hatred can only be conquered by love.

In the Sacred Heart, every treasure of wisdom and knowledge is hidden. In that divine heart beats God’s infinite love for everyone and for each of us as individuals.
