annabeth is the first to produce one. after reading about the topic around the end of her fourth year, she set her mind on it and worked endlessly on it in her spare time. piper found out and begged to be a part of it. Annabeth first created her dolphin patronus in her dorm room with piper sitting on her bed. piper didn’t create hers until a month later - on the exact spot annabeth had created hers - it’s a doe

when the others find out (not until percy and annabeth’s fifth year) they think its completely awesome, but are the tiniest bit jealous. percy and leo, in particular, set their minds to creating their own. they enforce the help of annabeth and piper, which ultimately results in the whole gang joining in and having their patronus meetings (which continue all the way into seventh year, and involve very little attempting-to-create-a-patronus time)

frank surprises everyone by being the next to create his. which earns a round of applause and a kiss on the cheek from hazel - blush time - it’s bear; big and strong and kind of cuddly looking

percy is next, it’s just him and annabeth, they are studying for their OWLs and percy is always one to procrastinate. he creates what he thinks is a fox, but annabeth tells him its actually a fennec and after some research, she informs him that a fennec represents a shy nature, but with a light-hearted, playful nature, and tells him it fits perfectly.

jason is next, he creates a falcon, which he takes particular pleasure in flying around the others’ heads to piss them off. and then hazel, whose patronus is a horse - majestic and freaking awesome in both piper and leo’s words.
