I immediately thought "MARLIN" at the typo and I was like "no Io's the marlin" but then I also corrected myself and was like NO Io's a sailfish but they're pretty similar shh

Anyways onto actually something understandable XD

Celestine's and Caelin's opinions of each other are EXCEEDINGLY different. As what is easy to guess based on their drastically contrasting personality. XD It’s basically a cat and dog relationship (and not ones that get along!)

Again, the dynamic changes a lot based on where we are in canon, as expected! So here's their initial dynamic~

What Caelin thinks of Celestine (initially):

Spanish girl with magic (and much anger)! Girl that's actually... a siren??? SIREN THAT ISN'T A LITTLE GIRL AT ALL AND IS ACTUALLY PRETTY SCARY

She's really mean for someone so small... :c

Honestly, these two don't interact too much at all in the first book, with Caelin more or less trying to stay as far away as possible from the scary, angry siren person.

Once Caelin gets over the whole 'your people eat humans' thing, though, they get the impression Celestine has a lot more reason to be mean than they initially thought... and maybe she really isn't as mean as she tries to act.

What Celestine thinks of Caelin (initially):

A hapless, moronic excuse of a sailor that's currently stuck being a mutt because of their own stupidity.

I don't know if you're aware of this, folks, but Celestine... is not nice. Not Nice. No. She doesn't pay Caelin much mind (and mostly ignores them, to be honest), and only really uses them as a bargaining chip to get something she wants.

The amount of times Celestine takes advantage of Caelin's obliviousness and innate desire to be kind and helpful is horrible. :S

Also: Celestine really Does Not Like Dogs.

HELP it's gonna be known for its insanity over the characters... specifically xh because his character is definitely broody at first LOL either that or its variety of edits of a Very Specific Scene that'll live with you forever even if you haven't read ironbloods LMAO

Rain boots: What is their favourite kind of weather?

the botanical gardens, of course 😊 or just like, the park. something lowkey, simple, and there’s gotta be plants around ljgkhdfg.

The vibe was:

you give off the “early morning, watching the sunrise with a steaming cup of tea, grabbed with both hands. Taking slow sips and just enjoying the peace of the birds chirping but being so far from the bustle of city life that you hear nothing other than the sounds of nature” vibe. :D

And it was inspired by/written about @piyawrites. Hope you enjoy this clip. :p

It was a morning like any other. It was peaceful, quiet. The sound of birds filled my ears. I took in a deep breath, taking in the scent of fresh tea I’d just made, letting the steam fog up my glasses and only smiling.

Peaceful. Restful. Relaxing. It was perfect.

Sighing a small sigh of pure bliss, I sat back and watched the colors turn from light, barely visible to bright, vibrant colors in the sky, smiling the whole time. I listened as the bird’s songs went from just a few to filling the air with their songs, dancing against my ears.

Wow.

32. What is their favorite thing to drink?

Ooh this is interesting because Loch is a mer-boy most of the time and doesn’t need to drink much because the water that he breathes in hydrates him plenty lol. But when he’s human he does drink a few things, I’d say his favorite is probably hot chocolate, it’s sweet, makes his tummy all warm haha. 

38. How would you describe their decorating sense?

Well him and his brother are pretty nomadic since they live in the ocean in a dystopian world, so he’s not decorating much haha. BUT if he COULD, there would probably be a lot of rocks since he likes rocks haha. He’s four, so his decorating skilled haven’t exactly developed much yet lol

the vibes!!!!! the aesthetic!!!!!!! it’s SO GOOD and from what I got of Laurie’s character he seems really cool!!! and the story is so emotional??? and soft and well written!! i’m a huge podcast nerd and this already feels like a fave! I can’t wait for the next one hhhh 🥺🥺
