i severely underestimated how difficult it is to draw a man dressed as a bat an make him actually look cool.

Kayden Wren O'Connell - OC introduction

There's a lot of components to her backstory, and a lot of it that I'm still figuring out.

When her parents split, she was still young, around 10 years old. Her mother was much more well off than her father, so for the most part her older brother Shawn stayed with their mom.

Kayden chose to go back and forth between houses, her dad having much less and living closer to the slums of Gotham in a less than desirable area.

Fast forward a bit to when her father passes, she's forced to stay with her mother who has always resented her a little bit--she never wanted a daughter--which eventually leads to Kayden running away from home.

There's a lot more to it that I can go into further details on later.

Now, living on the streets on her own, Kayden is taken in by a family who gives her up to the Court of Owls as an offer to add to their Talons. In the name of the Court, she is killed and brought back to life, and trained to kill at the age of thirteen.

Most memories from before her death are fuzzy and hard to remember, they're so distant from her. But when they finally do come back to her, she remembers that the very people who claim to have saved her are the ones who led her to death in the first place.

She resents the court, and escapes them somehow (again, still working out details). Now, she's on her own trying to stay under the radar while also working as a somewhat assassin to make just enough money to stay afloat.

Like I said there's a lot more details and canon characters who she's associated with, but this is just the basics of her backstory for now !
