Heroines of WOCtober: Hisako Ichiki
Hisako is a mutant who possesses the power to create an armor-like force field around herself, greatly increasing her strength and durability. Using codename Armor she is one of the students of X-Men and often involved in their adventures.
Astonishing X-Men #4-9, #13-41, #45-47 - The main series in which she was featured and introduced in. Since then her role has sadly been mostly supporting roles.
Astonishing X-Men: Xenogenesis - a miniseries by Warren Ellis and Kaare Andrews.
X-Men: Pixie Strikes Back #1-4 - Hisako is one of the students who get trapped with Pixie in the illusion realm.
Death of Wolverine: Life After Logan - Hisako copes with the death of Wolverine.
X-Men: Gold #1-5, #12, #16-25, #31-32, #36 - Hisako again in supporting role but is actually more regular than usual.
Hisako has shown up in few books by Ed Brisson and will have a B-Plot in his upcoming New Mutants series, but since I FUCKING HATE his writing I will not recommend any of it in good faith.
Astonishing X-Men: Ghost Boxes #1-2 - Anthology of alternative stories tied to Warren Ellis’ first story on Astonishing X-Men.
Ultimate Comics X-Men #17-33 - Hisako from Ultimate Universe
X-Men: Blue #4-5, #12, #23-30 - Ultimate Hisako makes a jump to main continuity but ends up as a servant of Ms. Sinister.
X-Men: the Anime - Hisako si featured in this 12-episode anime, though her personality is....not a most loyal adaptation.
