this is an argument that is in it's mid-thirties by now but i really don't get how people think that jotaro learning to stop time at the end of part 3 is an "asspull" or deus ex machina.
it's literally demonstrated at the outset that the world and star platinum are nearly equal, a feat that no other stands can claim, and then the whole fight basically is jotaro fighting for his life while trying to stop time for longer
the only criticism that i think that isn't immediately dispelled by reading the damn text is that jotaro just went "oh so it's the same type of stand" and went from there but if you go back and look at all the other stands in part 3 he's literally right? the world and star platinum are almost identical where no other stands are, except for osiris and atum--two stands shared by relatives with different appearences but almost the same ability!

literally once you think about it a little you realize there's not an actual reason cheating is bad other than "it just is okay?"
