Die You Alien Scum!
Embracing stage one as I’m upgrading weapons, building walls, and taking on hordes of blood thirsty aliens. When I first saw the trailer to this game it immediately took me back to the Starcraft and Warcraft survival map mods. Those were a ton of fun to play, you would upgrade your hero and just kill oncoming hordes of enemies. Even though Pixel Gladiator is in early access I feel it has it’s core gameplay nailed; you kill to survive, you upgrade, and repeat. There were some mechanics that flew over my head a bit such as getting in the line of sight for the camera to earn money, after all you are trying to entertain your audience. The UI of purchasing and upgrading your weapons could be more descriptive, once you purchase a weapon for example you’ve purchased it you have to go into that menu again to equip it, I feel it could be simplified. The enemies were pretty tough especially the bullet barrage spiders...but seeing them explode it was extremely satisfying! Overall I think it’s a fun survival shooter that still needs polishing but if it’s this fun at early access I can’t wait to see more updates in the future instalments.
