It was Frayneâs fault. Â In fact, the other boy had done
absolutely nothing wrong at all. Â Frayne had stumbled,
and to catch himself, the plastic bags in his hands
had been sacrificed to the ground, resulting in several
items rolling away from the scene and an entire
carton of eggs, which was now dripping yolk from the
sides, landing hard on the ground. Â His hand had also
hit the pavement hard, and he flinched at the sight of
a scrape that was beginning to attract small flecks
of blood.
No, the only thing that the other boy had been guilty
of was being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Frayne cursed under this breath, rising up on his
feet shakily, eyes immediately landing on the taller,Â
dark-haired boy. Â To Frayne, the only logical assumption
was that he had been pushed; or, if that was too
unlikely, that this other kid had somehow willed him
to fall. Â With one more glance down toward his broken
eggs, Frayne growled, head snapping up to glare
at the stranger.
 Â
âWell?  Are you going to help me pick it up or not?â
