Pirates washed out by stormy weather

(CNS): With this year’s pirate capers already curtailed by COVID-19, the trimmed Pirates Week festivities have now been postponed as a result of the deluge of rain expected this weekend as Tropical Storm Eta returns. Officials from the Cayman National Cultural Foundation, which now runs the annual shindig, said they were moving most of the events planned for the next five days to next week.

Pandemic trims pirate party

The Pirates Week Office in conjunction with the North Side District Heritage Committee advises the public the Heritage Day originally scheduled for Thursday, 14 November, and all events associated with the North Side District Heritage Committee have been cancelled for this year.

Food and craft vendors interested in participating in the upcoming Pirates Week Festival can reserve stalls starting Monday 3rd June, 2019.

Food Festival dates are: Friday 8th November – 6:00 pm to 2:00 am Saturday 9th November – 1:00pm to 2:00 am Monday 11th November – 10:00 am to 11:00 pm
