here’s the beginning of a college au pipalia fic I’ll never finish but still like xoxo
Piper is lying in the quad using her backpack as a pillow, her and Annabeth both taking advantage of the sunshine and avoiding their responsibilities.
She has a paper due next week that she should have started days ago, and a group project to follow up on, and readings to do, but right now, she is happy to ignore all that and lay in the grass, eyes closed against the sun.
She isn’t thinking about her ex boyfriend’s sister, nor is she thinking about her arms and how they look when she’s drawing her bow. She is not thinking about that, because her ex boyfriends sister is off limits and that would be inappropriate.
“Annabeth,” she says, opening her eyes and sitting up. “I’m such a fucking lesbian.”
“You can’t tell anyone,” Piper says. “Well, you can tell Percy,” she amends, “But he can’t tell anyone either.”
“Hey!” Annabeth swats at her shoulder. “I can keep a secret!”
“You’ll want to tell him, I know it. But if he tells Jason, I’m chopping his dick off, and I know neither of you want that.”
Annabeth punches her in the shoulder properly this time, rolling her eyes. “Fine, fine. We’re sworn to secrecy. Now tell me.”
Piper sighs again. “I might be a little bit into Thalia,” she admits.
Annabeth busts out laughing.
“You bitch,” Piper says, but she’s smiling.
“Piper,” Annabeth says between giggles. “Thalia? Really?”
Piper covers her face with her hands. “I know, I know.”
“Your ex’s sister, Piper?” Annabeth continues laughing.
“I know,” she says loudly, still hiding behind her hands. “I know, it’s stupid, she’s probably straight and she doesn’t date -- heh, that rhymes. It’s just, like, her arms, Annabeth,” Piper whines, peeking through her fingers.
Annabeth, whose laughter has died down into a delighted grin, nods wisely. “She does have very nice arms.”
Piper lets her hands drop. “She could kill me, Annabeth.”
“She could kill any of us,” Annabeth shrugs. “And she isn’t straight, Piper.”
“No. She’d be offended that you thought she was.”
“This is worse,” Piper groans. “I’d rather she be unattainable.”
