The rushing footsteps echoed across the Acre gate, as the young brunette ran down the small street heading towards the Highfield Academy. She cursed silently at the watch that had rudely mislead her before resulting her running late to her FIRST serious job interview. Oddly enough, each clock that she passed on the street seemed to disagree with one another, causing a slight confusion to the human girl, but she tried to ignore it for now, she had a bigger things to worry about than a silly time mismatch! She fastened her pace as she was reaching the corned of the street, and the shining blue roof of the Academy now caught her full attention. She noticed THE MAN in front of her only when she had already ran into him and fallen backwards, hitting the muddy Blackpool's ground. ❝Blimey!❞ Clara exclaimed in exasperation.

A Moment of Weakness

Clara had never liked being lost. She was terrified of it as a kid and had carried that fear into adulthood, though it rarely expressed itself because she’d gotten very good at knowing where she was. Traveling with the Doctor meant she was always lost in one way or another, but usually they were fine.

Now, though, in the middle of this deadly maze, her resolve was wavering.

He looked at her forlornly, unsure what he could do to comfort her. “I wish I could stay, but…I don’t think I have much choice.”

                               ❝     There’s always a  choice.   ---------...  But why are you making it? Why  NOW?  Has something happened?     ❞

                          SHE OUGHT TO BE MORE UNDERSTANDING.  Calmer.  If he felt they ought to stop traveling together  [  for whatever reason she cannot conceive  ]  then that was his choice. His  choice  ;  no matter what way he looked at it. Clara assumes he’s afraid, worried she’ll end up hurt on one of these  rendezvous’  of theirs. She will let him make his choice but that doesn’t mean she’ll stand down and accept it without bargaining. This would, ultimately, be the bigger tidal wave to her than him.
