Pinner Portraits: Littlegreenshed's Lou Archell
There are many creative types that use Pinterest as a source of inspiration, but when we stumbled upon Littlegreenshed’s Lou Archell we were positively swooning at her boards. From interiors and crafts to clothing (for people both little and grown up), we’ve fallen in love with her Smörgåsbord of style. As a blogger and writer she’s found Pinterest essential not only for inspiration but for promoting her own work too.
First, can you tell us a little about yourself?Â
Hello! My name is Lou Archell, and I am a lifestyle writer/blogger from Bristol, UK,where I live with my partner, Dan, and my two young sons. I write a blog called Littlegreenshed, which to me is a collection of happy memories. This is my journal on my life and my loves. I also love to write about interiors inspiration, the championing of craftsmanship, travel destinations, recipes and good old family fun.
How would you describe your interiors style?
I think it could be described as modern rustic, in any case it’s what I am aiming for. I love a simple clean interior with natural furnishings. Linens, wool, hand thrown ceramics, stripped floors, kilim rugs etc. A very paired back home is what I try for, but living with two young boys there is always a mass of Lego somewhere! I am currently on the hunt for Ercol chairs for my dining room. My latest Pin obsession is a navy blue bedroom, hopefully very soon I shall have one of my own!
When did you first start using Pinterest and why?
I started using Pinterest when it was in Beta form, and invite only, and was one of the original testers. I started using Pinterest for inspiration for the blog, finding beautiful homes to write about and of course for interiors style for my own home. Now I use it for that and more, developing inspiration for future posts, promoting my blog and as a community space using group boards, like my Nature in the Home board.
Where do you find your inspiration on Pinterest?
I follow some wonderful Pinners who I found through other social media platforms, loving their personal style and it went from there. Also once I’ve found someone who Pins beautiful Pins, I check to see where they find their Pinning inspiration… and so it goes on.
Which Pinners’ style would you want to have in your home?
Beth Kirby, without a doubt. Her home, her taste and styling is fabulous. Have you seen her recent kitchen makeover?! Wow!
If you could steal any Pinners’ style, who would it be and why?
Rose Eberson, she has beautiful boards. Dreamy, delicate and stunning. I could walk into her boards and never return! Her clothing board, a la mode makes me wish for a larger wardrobe and bank balance!
