fren, my irl friend found out that I'm pansexual, not bisexual and she's are like "they are basically the same thing" and when o tried to make her understand that they're not the all that same, she replied with "i don't get it". she's willing to respect my identity but she can't understand the difference between the two and it kinda bothers me that i can't make her see the difference?? so can you lay out the basic differences between them in brief?? you're really good at it, idk where else to go
hey! I’m glad she’s willing to be respectful. but it’s frustrating as hell when you feel you can’t put it into words or in a way that someone else will understand, ya know? so I’ll try my best to make it as simple as possible. the easiest way I feel to explain it is just that bi is two or more and pan is all. so, bi can mean a bunch of things (two, three, most, some, all) but pan only ever means one thing (all). I hope that helps! if it doesn’t, there might be some posts in my pan or bi tag that could help.
