It’s October 20, 2025. The Toronto Blue Jays defeat the Seattle Mariners 4-3 to win the American League Championship Series and advance to the World Series for the first time in over 30 years. They will face the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Everyone thinks it’s over for the Blue Jays. They have no hope of defeating the evil empire. But in game 1, the Blue Jays score 9 runs in the sixth inning, with the highlight being a grand slam by Addison Barger. The first pinch hit grand slam ever hit in a World Series. The Blue Jays annihilate the Dodgers 11-4. The “dodgers in four” crowd is real silent.
The series goes back and forth. Game 3 keeps everyone up until 3am as it goes on for 18 innings. Game 5 leaves me so joyful I could run a marathon without breaking a sweat.
But it is the events of Game 6 that cements the Los Angeles Dodgers as my most hated sports team on the planet. No one else compares. Not even the Yankees match the evil of the LA Dodgers. It’s the bottom of the ninth. The Jays are down two runs, and they have runners on base. It’s looking like a comeback is in order, but then the evil Dodgers outfielder stops mid play, fraudulently claiming that the ball has lodged in the wall, which prevents the Jays from scoring. Addison Barger is thrown out at second, and the Blue Jays lose. Now this moment is what really highlights the evil of the LA Dodgers. Balls do not lodge in the Rogers Centre wall. The ball was playable. The outfielder was full of shit, he could have played that ball, yet he chose not to.
Come game 7, the lodged ball incident becomes even more painful when the Jays ultimately lose the series after Jeff Hoffman gives up a home run in the ninth inning to allow the Dodgers to tie the game and take it to extra innings. The Dodgers deploy Yoshinobu Yamamoto, the pitcher whose insane shutdown pitching everyone neglected to mention as they were busy glazing Shohei Ohtani to hell and back. The Jays can’t score. The Dodgers hit a home run and win the World Series right in my backyard.
The main issue here is that evil prevailed. Evil prevailed because of some nonsense calls and fluke plays, and my power of friendship team who deserved to win lost instead. I will spend the rest of my days praying on the downfall of the Los Angeles Dodgers. I would happily watch the Florida Panthers win another 10 Stanley Cups if in exchange the Earth would open up beneath Dodger stadium and drag that team into its flaming depths. I refuse to acknowledge that anyone could think kindly towards the Dodgers. They are the epitome of evil.
Rant over. Perhaps one day I will be free of The Grief. Or it'll just haunt me forever, who knows.

Anywho, there is one I actually think you would really like! It's called Reemployment Life With an Unsociable Untalkative Magician! It's set in a fantasy industrial-revolution type era, about a maid who moves to a small town and begins working for a hot silver-fox magician. It's that quiet "I'll take care of you, cultivate you, and love you" dynamic that I think we both just eat up. They're nothing but sweet to each other, with just enough lore about their universe that it keeps things really interesting, and their dynamic feels so fresh and fun! Also big age gap, which is always a treat.
In the same vein, I of course have to spread the Ancient Magus Bride disease and say Chise and Elias. Not only is their dynamic precious and genuinely they hurt my heart, it's also a beautiful, whimsical, and yet very grounded coming of age story for Chise, and the lore of the series is so magnificent I genuinely am so envious that I can't transmigrate into that universe and experience all the magic it has to offer.

THIS IS HARD!!!! When I dream of a fic, I simply write it.... there is one genre of fic that I really adore but can't bring myself to write and it's daemon aus, as in His Dark Materials. I *adore* the sort of "spirit animal" concept but I just can't write it myself! And this AU is so rare I can barely find any fics for it, especially in modern fandoms!!! It's such a dilemma for me, I'm begging *anyone* willing to write it.
I find myself wanting existing fics to update more, though. For instance, Whumpbby has a couple fics they haven't updated in years (no hate obviously, that's just how the cookie crumbles sometimes) but their Reaper76 one and Voltron Gijinka ones are really good and I am BEGGING for more. Designation: Miracle by Umisabaku is a kuroko no basket fic with all the classic pairings (and a curveball with my favorite, Akashi/Furihata) which is a sci fi au of KNB. Her summary is the best so I'll just copy:

I find it so difficult to get into plot-heavy fic, especially these days, but this fic is a downright masterpiece. I can't emphasize enough: if you're going to read anything on this list, read this. The plots emotional and technical beats never disappoint, and Umisabaku has a rich and wonderful range of OCs that are just as if not more interesting than the characters we know.
