She’s a mythological creature from Chile—a water spirit who represents the fertility of marine life, although I’ve also heard of her as a mermaid who emerges from the sea to save shipwrecked sailors. She looks like a blonde woman dressed in nothing but seaweed. I haven’t seen other depictions of her give structure to her seaweed garb, so I was excited to design a unique outfit for her. I took inspiration for it and her body paint from a couple indigenous Chilean tribes. What do you think?
