The entire plot of My Name could have been avoided if the narcotics team showed up to the funeral...
how i would end "my name": alternative universe
requested by: @mochacake2016
warnings: mentions of suicide, depression.
pairing: choi mujin x jiwoo
summary: an alternative ending where it focuses on aftermath of this pair.
author's note: the way they cared for each other in the drama and the way their relationship developed truly needed a better ending. although i don't think they should be romantically paired, because they had a deeper connection than lovers. but we're giving the people what they want wehehe.
exhausted from fighting the bodyguards downstairs and all the way to the elevator, jiwoo breathed heavily, the injuries she received sending waves of pain through her body. she sighs, mentally preparing herself for what's to come on the highest floor of the tower. the elevator dings, signaling its stop. the door opens, revealing numerous guards that were ready to plunge at her any second. she takes a deep breath, and she pushes her way through them.
she makes her way through his door and points the gun at him. "whoa, i didn't expect you'd put that many people to fight me off. were you that intimidated?" he smirks "i didn't expect you'd run out of energy so easily, i thought you wanted revenge?" her pupils shake ever so slightly "you-you bastard...you weren't satisfied with killing my father that you went for pildo as well..." he gets up, a knife visible in his hand, as he wipes it with a cloth. "because.. you need conviction to kill" she scoffs "did you enjoy watching me look for someone who was right infront of me the whole time??" mujin was looking at her with a look that she couldn't quite decipher. he heaved a frustrated sigh, like he was holding the weight of the world at this moment. "this will only end when one of us" he pauses and looks at her "..dies." she takes a few steps forward "i won't let all that i went through to go in vain, i will end this."
in a whim, metal can be heard clanging vigorously, having bearly enough time for either side to take a breath. jiwoo was getting weaker by the second, her energy draining out. at some point, she fell down, the gravity holding her down way too strongly. "get up...get up! come on, stab me! are you giving up?!" and she sees it again. that expression. she didn't know what it meant, but she could feel her heart cry a little. she tries to ignore what she felt, and tries to get up again. she feels her body shake, she has to finish this right now. she musters all the strength she had left, and plunged at him with all her might.
mujin anticipates the pain, but he feels nothing. she didn't stab him. they were both on the ground, breathing heavily. he looks up at jiwoo, only to see tears streaming down her face. "how could you do this to me..to..us" she was holding him by the collar of his shirt, helplessly crying. he slowly, and reluctantly placed his hand on her own, and ever so slightly squeezed it. "do you remember when....i asked you if you had to get revenge? regardless...of the price you pay.." she sniffles "was it all a lie? that day at the junkyard, where you came in, bleeding...you knew the police were coming, the risk of you being exposed...yet you...saved me..." she inhales deeply "if this is how it turned out, why did you save me?? i would've rather died than live to know the truth of it all.." he takes both of her hands in his, and brings it up close to him. "i'm sorry...the day i knew the who your dad really was...the betrayal i felt, my heart felt like it was stabbed repeatedly...i never meant to kill him" he finally let's his tears flow "he was the only person to ever understand me.." he looks at her "i genuinely cared for you, i was...terrified of this day and i thought of never telling you the truth...but i had to, it is your right to know."
she pulls her hand away from his, her heart aching. why did this have to happen to her...to them?? she couldn't handle the pain she's feeling from looking at him, so she tries to get up, again. she looks at him one last time, then leaves. that's when mujin finally breaks down, crying, the guilt overtaking him.
they both head their separate ways physically, but they were in each other's thoughts occasionally constantly. jiwoo left korea and opened her own studio abroad, where she taught other women self-defense. opening that studio saved her, it was the only thing that gave her a purpose to live. that's what she believed would make her father proud. months had passed, seasons changed, and jiwoo felt her heart soften a little.
locking the door of her medium sized studio, she slips the keys into her bag. stretching her arms behind her head, she exhaled loudly. she starts walking, without a destination in mind. somehow, she found herself standing on the seashore. she looked around, and found a small shop that sold gimbap-her favorite. against her will, mujin intrudes her thoughts. how is he...? he wouldn't end up killing himself, would he?? she shakes her head in an attempt to shake these thoughts away. she hates him. she has to. but she can't help worry about him, ever since the incident months ago. she realized she couldn't hate him, because she liked him, whether she accepted her feelings or not.
"ma'am!" she looks up. "i've been calling your name several times now, forgive me for raising my voice. "ah no, it's fine. i'm sorry for making you wait so long, and thank you" she took the food from him. as she's admiring the view, something, or someone, caught her eye. a guy with an all-black outfit was not what made her notice him, but the metallic mug that resembled one she owned for a long time.
it can't be him, was what she tried telling herself, but her heart was telling her otherwise. before she could process what she was doing, her legs were already carrying her downstairs. she barely catches up to the hooded person and breathes a "hey! hey you !" he freezes. she takes a few seconds to even her breathing and looks up. the guy in the hood is staring at her, pupils dilated, in shock. it was him. "mujin...?" ever since the fight, she convinced herself that she would never cross paths with him again, that it was impossible for him to find her here. her eyes met his, and she saw so much sadness and despair.
mujin was in a greater shock. he, too, knew that they would never cross paths again. he couldn't comprehend the reality he's in, and the fact that jiwoo is standing right in-front of him. she was always on his mind, how she was living, if she's eaten, if she's safe. "jiwoo...have you been well?" she frowned "what are you doing here..? were you following me?" he was taken aback "ah, no i live here...it's that wooden house over there" he pointed at it. jiwoo looked at where he was pointing, and she saw an odd-looking house, far away from the other houses; alone.
jiwoo looked back at him. before she could weigh the words in her head, she started talking. “have you been well?” he looked surprised “i’m doing...okay” jiwoo didn’t know why her legs won’t move...she should stay away from him. “i left the company.” mujin found himself walking closer to the petite figure. “i know this won’t make things any better, but i stopped selling drugs. and i moved here in hopes of staying alive.” she furrowed her brows in confusion. he breathed out a small laugh “i tried to end my life, several times...but it never worked out. my weak self is just not able to do it. i don’t know why im telling you this...you would’ve been the happiest to hear of my death.” he looks down “i wanted to do it for you...im sorry”
jiwoo was taken aback. she then absentmindedly walked up to him and embraced him. he became stiff at her sudden move, but quickly relaxed in her arms, resting his head on her shoulder. “i never wanted you to die. even when i found out the truth, i couldn’t imagine killing you. my...dad would have never forgiven me if i did and i...would never forgive myself.” she could hear soft sobs and his figure shaking a bit, and held him tighter.
they stayed like that for a good while, when she felt arms resting on her waist, pulling her closer. he waited for a few seconds before saying, almost whispering, the words he's always wanted to say. "i missed you...so much. there was a time when i wanted to send you here, back when we were in Seoul. i wanted to take all the sadness and anger from you for you to feel at peace. for you to stop destroying yourself. to live here, just like your dad had wanted." she felt hot, fresh tears run down her face. it's been a long time since she's felt any emotion at all. she felt...relieved. like the weight she's been carrying on her shoulder being slowly lifted. she felt a hand patting her back, gently. this feeling...she wanted to keep forever. "i love you, jiwoo."
she doesn't know if it's his warmth that's engulfing her, or his words, or just...him. but she confirmed the feeling she had been pushing away for the longest time: she wanted him in her life, she needed him. and he needed her. they were both broken people that feel hopeless, but with him she felt hopeful loved. the time she recalled with him, he was always protecting her. even when it was dangerous, when he was injured. and seeing him after all this time, she realized that he has been tornenting himself ever since he pulled the trigger. he never forgave himself, and maybe he never will. and knowing your dad, he wouldn't want him to feel this way forever. he would've wanted him to live his life. because he knew that he too, betrayed him.
letting go of mujin, jiwoo breathed loudly as she looked up at the clear sky. "dad...can i do this..? am I...allowed to do this..??" her mind was a mess but her heart was clear in what it wants. it wanted to stay with mujin, and give him another chance. mujin stood there, following her gaze to the cloudy sky. "can i...stay with you for a while?" mujin moved his head so fast he felt his muscles cramp. he looked at her, visibly shocked. "i think...i want to give you another chance. to give us another chance. to attempt to heal, together...i...like you too" jiwoo looked at him only to find him on his knees, crying.
she sat on the soft sand, holding him. the clouds parted its way for the sun to shine, and she smiled. it was like her dad's smile, so bright it could light up the world. they held each other tighter, taking in each other's scent, feeling the start of a new chapter in their life. a brighter one.
a/n: this took ages, but it's finally here!! i think it's safe to say that im satisfied with the ending of the imagine, and i know that most of y'all expected a kiss, but it just didn't fit. this seemed to be most fitting way for them to rekindle their relationship, but it will surely grow into a deeper connection. that is the end of the imagines for my name, i hope you like it!
girl u hv to write a jeon pildo and jiwoo fanfic .i love them so much they both deserved so much better

Snowy Skies and Late Nights
Jeon Pil-do x Yoon Ji-woo
A/N: this is probably out of character tbh because i haven’t watched the show in so long and my mind is just filled with Eternals now
The comfortable silence hung in the air like a thick blanket on a winter night. Warm, pleasant. Ji-woo silently pondered the man sitting next to her. The first time they met, Pil-do had treated her as a bothersome bug flying around his head. He had been harsh, but looking back, his frustration was understandable.
It had taken… a while, for him to warm up to her, and her to him. They had both been wary of each other, unwilling to let a new person infiltrate their bubble. He had disliked her, he thought her rash and cocky. To him, she took too many unnecessary risks.
Her stomach felt warm when she recalled the time he called her “his partner” for the first time. She hated it. She had a job to do, a mission, and she wasn’t going to let some by the book cop jeopardize it, no matter how handsome, or kind, or thoughtful he was. She didn’t care about him, she hated his stupid perfect hair and his caring, gentle compassion, especially when it was directed at her. Ji-woo had never had friends, the bully girls at her school had made sure of that. At the gym, all the men either wanted to hurt her, humiliate her, or fuck her. The closest she had to a friend was Mu-jin, and he was more of a mentor figure.
She was pulled out of thought when Pil-do turned to her, a curious expression on his face, “What are you thinking about?” He questioned.
“How do you know I’m thinking about anything? I could just be admiring the snow,” Ji-woo pointed out.
“When you think deeply, you get this specific look in your face, I don’t know how to explain it,” Pil-do paused, “Your brow furrows slightly and you purse your lips.”
She frowned, was she that easy to read?
Pil-do laughed and she realized she had asked her question out loud. “No, the opposite. When we first met, for the longest time I could never tell if you were happy or wanted to punch me, but when you work with someone for a while you pick up on their mannerisms. For example, when you’re trying to figure something out, you bite the inside of your cheek and brush this strand of hair behind your ear.” As he said this, he reached out and gently tucked a lock of hair behind her ear.
She blushed before looking down, her hair falling back around her face like a curtain. She realized they had somehow migrated towards each other while they were talking, now only a few inches away from one another.
He winced, “I’m sorry, was that too direct?”
She looked back up at him, preparing to brush him off, when she stopped and looking at him. His dark eyes were soft, a softness she had never known. Her lips parted slightly, and his eyes flickered towards them. He swallowed, his adam’s apple bobbing. They both moved towards each other slowly, waiting for the other to back away.
Once their lips were barely an inch apart, Pil-do hesitated, and started to pull back. Ji-woo, without thinking about it, swiftly leaned forward and closed the gap, kissing him.
He gasped slightly in her mouth before recovering and returning the kiss with enthusiasm. His arms came around her and she cupped his cheek in her hand. Gangs, murder, drugs, they were all the farthest from her mind they’ve been in a long time. All she could focus on was him, the feeling of his soft lips on hers, the slight, steady, pressure of his arms around her, the fresh, clean smell of his cologne.
She had things to do, people to kill, but smiling against his lips, she decided it could wait. At least for a little while.
ahh i hope y’all liked it!!! this was kinda messy and rushed because it’s the middle of the night and i have a chem test tomorrow!

Fourth of July by Sufjan Stevens will always make me cry
because its either one couple or another that comes to mind and its Mental Fucking Images that kill me instantaneously
and Pildo and Jiwoo were just added to that list 😃
swear to god if i dont start seeing more content about them within the next week or so im gonna be even sadder
how i would end "my name"
i feel like my name could have ended in so many other ways without destroying me this much :") but in a way, jiwoo had sacrificed so much for her revenge and would all have gone down the drain had she turned herself to the police. so i have this ending/sequel in mind that i wanted to write down.
disclaimer: the characters and the story are not mine, im only writing how i would want the ending to be. enjoy ! (also one of the best osts ugh)
"no matter what happens from now on, i will always be by your side" pildo looked at jiwoo reassuringly. for the first time in a long while, she had felt safe. she felt the genuineness in his voice. in his eyes. in his smile. after her father's death, she believed that only mujin really cared for her. she didn't express it in words much, neither did he, but they both trusted and secretly cared for each other. after she knew that he was the killer, she couldn't see straight. how can she be so utterly fooled by his words? from the way his eyes softened and his sad smile whenever he talked about her father, to the way he saw dong-hoon as his only true friend...was it all a lie?
lost in her thoughts, she fails to see the biker that emerges beside their car. she looks up, noticing the person that was holding a gun pointed at them. mujin. a shot is heard. she freezes. she keeps looking at mujin, her pupils ever so slightly shaking. it was when pildo fell into her arms, and mujin sped off, that she started to process what was going on. pildo was shot. she starts shaking uncontrollably. she doesn't know what to do, but she sees in her vision the other team members rushing to him, and she opens the door and run the opposite side.
she runs and runs until her feet give up and she falls down. she touched her face, to notice that it had become wet. she was crying. she felt broken. her phone then rings. she looks at it, it was one of the team members calling. she accepts the call "he's in the icu right now. he's been shot in his abdominal area. he's in a dangerous position and i...." he stays silent. "he really cared for you, you know. he needs you by his side." you were silently sobbing the whole time, putting a hand over your mouth to prevent your cries from being heard. "im sorry...it's all my fault" was all that you could barely manage to say before you hang up. you wipe away your tears, and continue running to the place that had the answers you needed.
she fought her way to the top floor, being injured here and there, but still managing to walk. she pushes her way into the murderers office, losing her only bullet to a stubborn jerk. she pushes open the large door, and mujin looks up to her expectantly. "took you long enough." "shut up-" she glares at him "if you knew i was the killer, why did you not come after me?! isn't this the reason you got rid of the evidence and got me out of jail !?" he screams. "i wanted to be a human for once. i wanted to be treated like one. when i found out the truth, i couldn't breathe. i couldn't believe any of it, i thought it was all a lie. i never thought you could betray me like that." he smirks "well now you know. it won't end until one of us dies. i thought we were similar, but we're distinctively different. you can never kill a person." her tears welled up so quickly. "how...why...did you kill pildo? when someone finally loves me and sees me for who i am" she sobs " when i finally met someone who did not care about my horrible past" she looks up "but you're right, because i hesitated, because i thought i could ever be human, i lost another precious person to me". you smirk "i will become the monster you want me to be."
that's when they both plunged at each other, brutally and confidently hurting each other in any accessible place they see. she gets weaker by the second, falling down easily and having a hard time standing up. "get up...stand up!! come at me, stab me !! and somewhere in that confidence, she can feel the guilt overtake him. she feels his breath hitch everytime she falls down. she stands up, her eyes never leaving him for a second. she plunges at him one last time.
groans can be heard. they both fall down, jiwoo being on top of him. he was stabbed. but the pain was not in the place she had stabbed him, his thigh, but rather, his heart. he looks at her. "the guy that you shot, did everything he could to stop me from destroying myself...the overwhelming guilt you're feeling, i want you to continue feeling it. that's your punishment. you want me to kill you so that you feel less guilty about it all, but it won't happen. i want the deed that you did to keep haunting you for the rest of your life." she bores her dark eyes into his. tears well up his eyes and he tries to hold them back, never leaving hers. she's never seen him cry. "you are not a monster, you never were. you're just broken, and that guy was your salvation. even if its too late...im sorry. for killing your father. for killing my best friend." he turns his face to the side, unable to look at her. she couldn't stay there any longer, so she weakly tries to stand up, giving him one last, final look, before walking to the door.
she aimlessly walks in the dark, wondering if the surgery went well. she couldn't call, she may never know whether he lives. she prays to god, for the first time in her life, to not take pildo away from this world. this world needs him. he still has alot to experience. she chokes up tears, eventually falling on her knees, sobbing. after a while, she gives it her all to stand up again, as she's been hurt badly. she continues.
6 months later
pildo opens his eyes, hissing from the brightness of the room. he tries to open his eyes again, this time his eyes adjusting better to the lights. "where...." he trails off. he looks to his side. no one is in the room. then it all comes back to him at once. "from now on, whatever happens, I'll always be with you." her eyes. her tears. her smile. he sits up abruptly, groaning in pain due to the sudden movement and a splitting pain in his head. "where is...where is she !! jiwoo !!" he screams with everything in him. one of the team members opens the door and rushes to him. "pildo, you're awake !! i can't believe this...let me call the rest-" pildo pulls his hand "where is jiwoo?? is she okay? what happened-" "you've been in a coma for 6 months and she is the first person you think about? i feel hurt" he chuckles. but he notices how worried pildo is and says "she's...she disappeared. i don't think she was shot, but she ran off after you got shot...we tried finding her but to no avail. it's like she completely vanished from this city." pildo's mouth is left agape "i've been asleep for six months..?" the latter nods. pildo chuckles in disbelief. he pulls out the needles stuck to him, attempting to get out of bed, only to fall once he tries to stand up. "hyung it's too early for you to get up!" he holds pildo up. "i need to find her." "why would we look for her when she's the reason you're like this !!" he screams "she's not. i need to find her. i needs to make sure she's safe and sound. i need her." the other sighs. "get better quickly so that we start looking for her again" he smiled.
after another few weeks, pildo was in his office again. looking for her. "okay listen up! this is what we know last about her" and goes on to explain the situation. "please be okay, ji." he says it loud enough for him to hear it.
a/n: an alternative universe would be jiwoo and mujin making out after beating tf out of each other. but i like the way this turned out for now. hope you enjoyed <3
Not my name trying to make us all ship Pildo and Jiwoo only for Choi Mujin to be like "well hello, seems like you'll be weirdly shipping me with Jiwoo instead" and I respect that.
Also please I need the behing the scenes of the fights, it must be so interesting to see the process !!!!
