fursuit friday is over but not swag saturday
my american breakfast whoo
not much to say except yes i do have a glass of milk to the side
my blue collection grows stronger
1lb ground beef, chopped into rough chunks, cooked in garlic oil (4 cloves) + 400-500g mirepoix (2:1:1 onion:celery:carrot) cooked over medium for 20 minutes + cremini mushrooms. the other seasonings were just salt, black pepper, white pepper
crust is ~370g sourdough discard + 3 eggs, 3tbsp butter, 2tsp baking powder, 1tsp salt
baked 400F for 40ish minutes. the recipe says 25 but the inside was still completely raw — i think because it’s meant to all be baked in an already-hot cast iron skillet but i used a casserole dish (or whatever that is). aside from having to wait longer i don’t mind, because the crust is nice and crispy with a stronger butter taste…

i don’t even know how [&] came about. i’ve lived a very mild and untroubled life. many times i think it’s either pretend or just a way that i visualize different states of being. other times, i don’t know. but there’s never a time i’m 100% sure… i was the most sure of it when it was a secret, but maybe even that was false, because i didn’t know much about the world yet (still don’t). maybe it’s all imaginary, but i don’t want to erase it… like a shitty story you made as a kid that you still keep because how could you throw away a part of you? i’m sure i was just lonely and running away from reality. but i don’t want to say it was all fake.
why do still struggle with social anxiety in the big year 2026, stupid?
recently i read volume 1 of no matter how you look at it, it's your guys' fault i'm not popular, better known as watamote, after many years of being like "EWW PROBLEMATIC MEDIA!!!1!"
and what i gathered... woah lol... i can relate to her a lot. looking at book reviews made me really mad because it's just people shitting on her and being like "i can't relate", "i hate the main character, she's not a good person", and "i won't be continuing this series". good on you for being so far from all of that that you cannot understand tomoko kuroki. maybe she gets worse as the series goes on (although, i don't think that'd happen...) but so far all i see is the person i am trying to heal from being: a shunned loner who cannot understand the real world because being alienated and isolated gently places you in a cycle that spins faster and faster to make you more and more of an awkward, unlikable, hateful freak. that's all that's really in volume 1, and people already hate her from that alone.
i also don't think the author means for her to be a likable protagonist. relatable yes, likable... maybe not? there's clearly absurdity in her actions. part of the humor of the series is how lost in her own head she is. also why pick up a book with an exhausted and gloomy-looking anime girl on the front with that title and that blurb if you can't handle a series that's not 100% sunshine and rainbows where the main character defeats the bad guy and gets married to the love interest and they have two kids and a house with a white picket fence... well, whatever, i'm just mad. a typical emotion for when strangers on the internet shit on a character who is basically you
