okay, so to write a piglin song I have to figure out which instruments would be viable for piglins to use based off of the materials they have around them, and I got a little carried away...

Piglin Instruments Concepts (part II)
so, everyone really liked my concepts for piglin instruments, so I designed a few more that didn’t quite fit in the song I made! thanks for some of the ideas! part one here
Piglin Dance
[for the full experience, please open both the score and the audio file at the same time, pause the audio file before reading the exposition, and press play when i say. the score is also provided to provide context of the words]
audio file | score
The nether air is warm against your face as you push your way through the crimson forest. You’ve been wandering for ages, looking for your portal back home, trying to catch a glimpse of any form of purple in the sea of red.
You are beaten down. You were searching for a nether fortress, but you were unable to find one due to a ghast attack in the adjacent soulsand valley. You’ve taken refuge in the trees, and you know the only thing keeping you from being attacked by the local piglins is your gold helmet, about to break.
You round a corner, and you catch a glimpse of movement out of the corner of your eye. You shrink back into the shadows, trying to melt into the shadows of the trees to keep from angering the piglins.
You observe the gathering, it seems to be a celebration of sorts, with the piglins wearing gorgeous, more formal red and golden clothing. There are many different types of piglins, with brutes, children, and warriors all gathered together around a fire.
You catch a glimpse of a larger piglin pulling something out from behind a log. Afraid you were spotted, you prepare to run, but are pleasently surprised when the large piglin pulls out a beautiful violin, made of crimson wood and with strings of gold.
The other piglins become excited at this notion, and your limited understanding of the language has you understanding that a song is about to begin. Various piglins around the group begin pulling out a variety of instruments: a drum made from hoglin skin, a flute carved from a crimson branch, and a variety of hooves, bones, and horns made for procussion.
You watch as the drummer sits on one end of the circle, and begins to play a beat. [begin the audio file]
Other percussion joins in, and slowly the piglins begin to gather in a large circle, playing out a joyfull dance that they have obviously done many times in the past.
The violin and the flute join in, playing a spritely tune that allows more movement to be added to the choreography.
Suddenly, the group begins to sing and clap and stomp, a tune which is obviously engrained within their bones.
You understand:
Come ye all to feel the fire, Burning bright to keep us warm Fire! Fire! Dance for Fire! Keeping us living and bright!
Come ye all to see the storm! Through the valleys of the world, Storm! Storm! Dance through storm! Keeps us protected and free!
Come ye all to see the trees! Our dear home of joy and peace! Forest! Forest! Dance in forest! Our dearest home land of peace!
The group of piglins finish the song in a flourish, cheering in celebration. The young ones bounce around, begging for another song.
You smile to yourself as you back out of the camp, and continue your journey looking for home.
Piglin Project
a brainrot research and creative ethnogrophy project by birdsong-18 (aka, yours truely) [feel free to illustrate, adapt, or add on anything that you want this is for the community and for me to just have fun lol :)]
alright, so during this stressful time called finals, my brain is moving at one-million miles per hour, but i desire breaks (*cough* procrastination *cough*) and my brain is not just sitting still with resting, so i’m brainrotting over minecraft piglins (by the way, piglins are my favorite mob now, they’re so great i love them)
so, i present to you, the base factors: which i may or may not expand upon in later dates
i will be covering _ general sections at the moment, including: community structures economy
*i am in no way, shape, or form associated with mojang studios, this is all a creative project where i make unneccessary lore about a singular group of mobs in a sandbox game*
now preceed below the cut to witness, the research
yeah so i stopped the brainrot by experimenting with style in a little one off sort of thing, so yeah! Here’s the first little draft of what i’m going to expand into Piglin Dance!
it’s not super in depth, but it’s fun and I wanted to share! It was mostally made to experiment with the instruments on musescore, because i’m not used to flute and stuff lol.
it’s composed for two flutes, a violin, a procussion section including a bass drum, wood blocks, and claves, and hand clapping!
also here’s a pic of the score if you’re curious

alright im planning piglin song, and there’s a few i can do
i could to a piglin dance song
i could do a piglin war song
i could do a piglin lullaby
i could do a piglin worship song, and explore if piglins have any form of ritual or religion
im leaning towards dance song, because i can do more with it, and i already have more ideas towards dance than anything else, but public opinion what do you think?
a little about me :)
i do the write and the song and occasionally make a funny meme

i’ve been on the piglin song brainrot all day here’s my thought process
instruments: y’all saw those it’s a post i linked it in the piglin dance post go check it out
experimentation with stuff: yeah idk how to compose for violin or flute or procession really so i just went for it a bit im better at choral music lol
inspiration: i listened to a lot of medieval music today. if you listen to celtic women: those vibes is what i was going for really. listen to Dulaman or Grenadine’s Dance and that’s the vibes with lots of drums and very dancy
i know that a lot of folk music is layered drums and then some melodic instrument that just plays what they feel in a key (usually very diatonic if you care about music theory lol) and then singing can come in and then a lot of made up harmony, so i didn’t focus much on the structure aspect i just went with what sounds good and was pretty improvisational with it
words were fun! lots of folk songs are telling a story or celebrating something, so i did more of a festival celebrating their village type beat, where they’re appreciating what keeps them safe and alive and such.
i don’t speak piglin so it’s in english :)
just something you could dance to is what i needed, and i think i got there!
alright that was my thought process it’s bed time now good night y’all
