This film has been a considerable learning experience and has resulted in something I am mostly proud of, and have come away feeling satisfied with the efforts that I put into it. Due to my planning of simpler character designs compared to my second year film, I was able to keep up a much more consistent pace of work and interest in this film, whilst also being able to focus more on the animation, rather than composition shots and backgrounds. This was great in strengthening my animation skills which is what I had hoped to accomplish with this film, since the rat designs were very simply shaped, allowing me to exaggerate emotion and expression to a greater degree, as well as the comedy aspect of the film giving me opportunities to discover how to give body language a comedic effect. Though I think there is a lot that could use improvement, such as my background designs and my overall pacing of the film's arcs, since the backgrounds are lackluster in features at times and can be repetitive, and the pacing is very fast and chaotic. However, these features were deliberately left behind in favour of the character animation, which was my original intention. I still think that I could have pushed the expression further, with greater squash and stretch or elastic Hanna-barbera esque exaggeration, but what resulted was something that remained true to my artistic style and touch. This experience will carry forward onto any future films I may create.
