I wouldn’t be able to print without crowdfunding, because of upfront costs & geography. The Australian post lets me send zines cheaply as letters. I also love the chance to make something small but complete & play with form (risograph, gatefold).

I’ll always happily answer questions about zines! I’ll keep funding at least one print zine a year as long as it’s worthwhile. I have a lot of ambitions for my game making, but I’m fortunate to have a full time job outside of games, so financially all I need is for them to continue paying their own way.

Your last endling ancestor died in Hobart Zoo in 1936. No Thylacine has walked the earth since.

But now your growing body lies dreaming in a cloning vat and your existence inflames the public. What are you: Scientific hubris? A new national identity? A second chance? A righting of colonial, historical or ecological wrongs?

You care nothing about that. Slowly your teeth, limbs, stripes and pouch grow. Soon you will escape.

Imagine the full breadth of Australian landscapes. Swamps, deserts, rock pools, forests, shorelines... And then, you. Hunters, gathering provisions for your community.

You're well-equipped with some extra bags and just hoping for a proper shelter for your aching bones. Or you're an absolute romantic, barely feeling all the distances you've travelled, seeking out materials to make a fancy coat for your heart back home. Or you're a parent looking for soft food for bub, or a young hopeful keen to prove your hunting prowess, a traveller with clan ties to the turtle...

And above all of this, looms the storm. It approaches, as you stalk the forest for possums or dig the scarp-side for roots. But your hunting group can only carry so much, and you all have your own hopes to fulfil before time runs out.

🎲 Mechanics - Use two d6s to roll on a table of prompts. Everyone else at the table answers the prompt in the way they see fit, and you choose your favourite and write a line based on it. Then the next person rolls, chooses & writes the next line, and so on. GMless!

It's almost Zine Month, that wonderful time of the year where roleplaying game zines are in abundance across crowdfunding sites!

On February the 4th I'll be crowdfunding Earth to Jupiter, an epistolary solo game about being left behind on an apocalyptic Earth. If the stretch goal is met, I'll also release a companion game allowing for asynchronous duet play! Or a second point of view for solo play, if you'd prefer.

The games are full laid out, with a space-themed scrapbook look to them. You're given 12 message 'scenarios', with prompts and restraints for each, then gently released to continue on your own.
