Lady Aella of the Summer Isles is a sharp-witted, overly enthusiastic (feral gremlin) noble of the Summer Isles who comes as a diplomat to Driftmark around 65 AC, discussing trade routes and relations, or at least going with Daemon Velaryon, who I believe was the Lord of Driftmark at the time.

But instead of meeting Lord Daemon, she catches the attention of the young ebullient and downright boisterous heir of Driftmark, Corwyn. Corwyn smiles at her like an idiot.

Basically a chaotic romance and she marries Corwyn in 67 AC, Corlys being born the next year (going with my show canon calculation.)

Also, because, Aella being a chaos goblin who once slapped Corwyn with a fish because he was being rude, being the mother to:

IS DEEPLY FUNNY IN MY HEAD.

Canon wise though, she dies not long after Corwyn.

I'd like to think that she had plenty of possessions (like jewels, rings, a little diary) at Driftmark that remained there when she died.

I gotta know what perfume she uses...

in terms of scent, she smells like the sea – a bit of salt with seafoam/seaweed. floral scents combined with earthy scents, sweet and delicate notes for the exotic smell of pearls. floral scents with dewy notes for the smell of water. some playful fruity scents, sometimes rich vanilla ones. honestly, she’s enough to give someone a headache just by existing in their general vicinity – especially her mother, rhaenys, who has quite a strong nose.

as for the perfumes she uses: miss dior, hypnotic poison (anything from dior, really), chanel no.5 (again, anything from chanel), anything from yves saint laurent, anything from victoria’s secret fragrances, sometimes the tom ford she steals from her boyfriends.

okay for some reason i became very fixated on this being in an au where alyssa is the lady of driftmark and, as a second son, ethan is married off to her and is seen as her consort !!

Gender: Female

General Appearance: Mousy brown hair, big-blue eyes, and a very rounded face! I feel like she gets her blue eyes from Rebecca’s genetics via Ethan 😭 but I could also def see her having a very deep indigo color that’s more reminiscent of the Targs!

Personality: This girl is the empath of all time tbh! She feels things so deeply whether it’s anger, joy, or sadness. I feel like she’d be very shy and prefer to spend time by herself — she struggles to make friends! Loves history, reading, and studying the constellations (just like her dad!) would definitely be the type to start crying when overwhelmed.

Special Talents: She knows how to tie the perfect sailing knots!

Personal Head canon: I have two actually! 1 is she is definitely autistic just like both of her parents! 2 is her name is definitely a tribute to both Rhaena and Rhaenyra lol along with Alyssa’s grandmother Rhaenys!

I'm not sure if we can ask about canon/canon relationship but that post made me want to ask do you guys have any differences in how you depict Robert and Joffrey's father-son relationship in crimson clover vs canon?

you can ALWAYS ask about canon/canon relationships in the crimson clover-verse <3 i love getting to discuss the canon characters and our takes on them! hmm i'm not sure if we have any crazy differences? joffrey is, above all, a case of nature vs nurture. no one is inherently born evil and a lot of why joffrey is who he is stems from robert and cersei's parenting! the quote that rlly stuck out to us both in terms of characterizing their relationship comes from stannis in a storm of swords

"Joffrey opened up the poor thing with a dagger to see if it were true. When he found the kittens, he brought them to show to his father. Robert hit the boy so hard I thought he'd killed him."

I'm not sure if I'll get a fully satisfying answer since I'm not sure if this goes into spoiler territory... but can you see a scenario of any kind where becca outright tells quinn that her real father is jaime?

I'm thinking on the fact that rhaenyra (at least show!rhaenyra) never just sat her children down and explained how they came to be. instead she just brushed their questions off or kept reaffirming that she was their mother and that's all that mattered.

It's not like quinn knowing would put her in any danger or anything and it's not like becca cheated on leo since iirc she was already pregnant with quinn(?)

in an alternate universe scenario where rebecca ran off with baby quinn and raised her on her own in the middle of nowhere then i think maybe there could be a chance she would tell quinn the truth, but otherwise it's not really something i see her doing in canon or in specific aus for a variety of reasons!

for starters i do think quinn knowing would inherently put her in danger because if she slips up and tells the wrong person (baelish, varys, myrielle, anyone at court who might have ulterior motives she can't see, etc) then it becomes a huge scandal at court and directly puts her in the crosshairs of cersei, joffrey, and tywin. the issue isn't that rebecca cheated, but that she was deflowered and (unknowingly to all parties) pregnant with the child of a man who's been sworn to chastity and took an oath to never father any kids.

in rebecca's mind it's much safer for quinn to think she is truly leo's daughter than to know she's jaime's and potentially reveal it to the wrong person... of which leo is definitely included! we know he's cruel and abusive in canon and there is a lot that could go wrong if quinn were to reveal her parentage or if he or anyone else found out

quinn also doesn't really suspect that jaime is her father either which is another factor into why rebecca doesn't tell her - she fully believes she is the trueborn daughter of leo and rebecca and in becca's mind she doesn't really see a need to destroy the reality she exists in yk?? here's also a lot of other complicated factors at play like rebecca's own feelings towards jaime that add to why she never has said anything! but above all it does boil down to safety especially because i do think there would be a danger if quinn knew - especially when she was younger!
