Sometimes, I just regret not being able to live in the golden eras of piano. Of course, there are a few loopholes of these eras in history, and one of them is definitely the romantic period! Oh my gosh, how I would love to watch, meet and learn from this piano maestro; the most beautiful human being in piano history, Vladimir Horowitz.  I just wish I can live during his times, especially when this concert was held in 1978 alongside with one of the greatest conductors in history, Zubin Mehta, while they play one of the most fantastic piano pieces, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3! This perfect combination not only makes me want to cry to not be able to experience any of the Horowitz performances, but also made me motivated to play and find my own sound in piano. To play technically, beautifully and with an original interpretation like of this calibre requires not only time and experience, but also humility, emotions and imaginations beyond this world. Horowitz’s interpretation of this concerto is surreal, in which I think this is arguably the best performance I have ever heard from him. Oh, I just wish that I can go back through time and watch him play this piece because he is truly my piano idol (recognized as the greatest pianist in the 19th century), with one of my favorite musical piece, and one of the greatest conductor and orchestra, in the most prestigious concert hall! It could not be better, and I mean it! I was lucky that I was able to watch the video before it got deleted online! :(
