[ ✉ ] — Ugh, what was with his luck today? First he overslept and forgot to put on his pants before running out of the house in a rush, had to run back inside and grab a random pair so the neighbors would stop laughing at him (they didn’t), and then scrambled into the office late with a piece of toast hanging from his mouth, ‘cause it was the simplest and quickest thing he could make before leaving.

He didn’t even like toast, but he’d be damned if he had to go on his long ass delivery route with an empty stomach.

Once that mess of a morning was out of the way, the day seemed like it might be picking up, even though his embarrassment lingered. But just when things were starting to feel normal again, a heavy downpour randomly starts in the middle of his route. Thankfully, it had started while he was making a delivery to the general store. So even if he hadn’t brought an umbrella of his own, he at least had enough luck to buy the last one that was on sale.

As he heads outside to continue on his route, he notices a blonde girl standing under the store’s awning. She made no effort to go out into the rain, and upon closer inspection, didn’t seem to have an umbrella either. Having no protection in this crazy weather? Yikes.

Dirk had his own business to take care of, and he was sure this girl did too, but he wasn’t gonna be a jerk and just leave her like this.

[ ☀ ] — Lillie brushes a few strands of hair out of her face as she steps into the bakery, having just gotten off of her shift at the station. She didn’t have any extra filming slated after her weather broadcast, so she was practically free for the rest of the day. With her busy schedule, that was pretty rare, so she decided to celebrate the occasion by treating herself to some rich, chocolate cake.

“Hello, hello!” She cheerily greets the blonde baker as she steps up to the counter, casually taking note of the maid-inspired uniform. Lillie always thought they were cute, and a part of her wanted to try wearing one for herself one day... of course, that would probably never happen. A girl could dream, though.

[🐎] — It doesn’t take long for Laney to come back from her trip to the festival, the creak of a door and the sound of footsteps signaling her return. Georgia had been cuddled up on the couch with their dog and three cats, the almost therapeutic influence of the animals helping to improve on her solemn mood from earlier. Now she was just tired, and looking forward to getting a good night’s sleep and shaking off the melancholy of the day.

She had been close though, nodding off and falling asleep when she hears that all too familiar voice.

Porcoline donned his maid uniform, ready for a shift at the café. Pinned to his blouse was a single blue rose, both to serve as decoration and to play up his unattainable desirability to the clientele. Y’know, for funsies.

He passed out flowers to his coworkers, each of them receiving a sunflower, an anemone, an alstroemeria, a lisianthus, and a yellow rose, five flowers tied together in a bow.

[★] — Melody had been at Mon Cherry, eating cake and sorting through the vials of potion she made earlier that morning, wanting to make sure she had all of them with her, to show off to the guys over at the Emporium for later. 

But when she opens up the sunshine vial to sniff, it accidentally slips from her fingers and topples over onto her slice of cake, pulling a panicked shriek out of the girl. 

“Ohhhhh no! Oh no, oh no, oh nooooo!” Melody quickly swipes up the vial and grabs a napkin to dab up the spilled potion, but most of it had already soaked into the cake. Frowning, she knows there’s nothing she can do for it. But it would be a shame to have it go to waste... especially after the sweet baker had put so much time and work into baking it...

...but it was soaked in potion now...

She purses her lips, staring at it hesitantly before picking up her fork and slowly breaking a piece off of the cake, cautious as she brings it into her mouth. Her chewing starts off slow, but returns to a normal pace after a while, as she realizes that even with the potion it didn’t taste bad at all. In fact, it tasted heavenly.

“Wooooowie~!” The cake (or perhaps the potion) sends a surge of euphoria through her, and Melody jumps up from her seat, skipping over to the front counter where the head baker stood. “Hey, hey! Excuuuuse me~!”

【✝】~ “Thank you so much for agreeing to this, Laney. I’ve been able to do so much more with your help!” Lara smiles at the woman who stood next to her in the small kitchen of her apartment, the blonde hard at work mixing the batter for the cupcakes they had been making. With the holiday season arriving, the Sister had wanted to do something kind for the people in her life. 

She had plans to give out presents, but right now she was working on making treats for every single person who lived in her apartment complex... with some much appreciated help, of course.

[🐎] — Sheera anxiously grips at her -- Georgia’s -- arm as she steps into the church, the normally inquisitive girl not even bothering to marvel at the grand organ or large stained glass windows, instead looking straight ahead as she is led to the person who would be fixing things. The one who would send both her and Georgia back to where they belonged.

They had used the word ‘exorcism’ too, something Sheera had only seen in relation to evil spirits, or demons. She never thought of herself that way, but... maybe she was. Nothing but an evil monster, who had stolen away some other girl’s life just to continue her own.

Once they reach the priest, Sheera looks down to her feet in shame. She didn’t want to see what sort of look such a holy person would have for her, a demon.

She hears someone move next to her then, and the girl slowly looks up to meet Laney’s gaze. Soon, she would be out of this woman’s hair, and for once... Sheera could finally do something to make someone happy. Once she joined her Mama, wherever her soul may be, she would be excited to tell her that.

It was their first Christmas living under one roof together so of course Laney had to go all out. So Georgia’s present was both a thank you and a Christmas gift.

“Okay, okay! I’ll be right back with your gift!”

Laney headed back to her room where the puppy was. She decided she was going to let the dog out first. She had to calm the puppy down in its cage so it wouldn’t give anything away. It was a black pug wearing the cutest handmade sweater. Laney opened the cage and let the dog run to Georgia. 

“I didn’t exactly get you a sweater but…” she chuckled sheepishly as the dog was now yipping and greeting Georgia. “Merry Christmas, Gigi!!”

[🐎] — Once Christmas morning had come, Georgia insisted that everyone exchange their gifts before doing anything else. Normally, she would have had a little more restraint, but this was the first Christmas she’s had in a long while that wasn’t either by herself or with her dad (who she would, of course, be visiting later), and she wanted it to be fun and special! If she had to wait any longer to give Laney her gift, she was liable to burst from the excitement.

When Laney heads to her room, Georgia dashes over to the Christmas tree and pulls out one of her gifts for the blonde, unable to hide the ecstatic grin on her face when she returns to the couch and sits it on her lap. Hearing some noise down the hall, she glances up… only to let out a surprised gasp when, instead of Laney, a black sweater wearing pug bounds up to her instead.

“Aaaaaawh~! He’s so CUTE!” Setting her own gift on the sofa next to her, Georgia crouches down to greet the pup properly, cooing as she picks him up and nuzzles his cheek. This of course earns her a bunch of licks to the face. “Ahahaha, this is way better than a sweater! I love him, Laney! Thank youuu~♪”

She doesn’t wan’t to part from her new puppy just yet, but there were things she still needed to do. “Okay, okay, now lemme go get yours– ahaha, stop licking Muku, that tickles!” After naming the dog the first thing that comes to mind, she sets him down and dashes to her own room, where she’d been keeping the siamese kitten she got for Laney. She takes the small kitten out of her cage and nestles it in her arms, returning to the living room with a bright grin.
