(A short writing snippet as I get back in practice. Might be part of a much longer fic eventually. Feedback is welcome.)
At the criminal trial of Hordak, following the war.
Scorpia rubbed the back of her neck with one claw. âI donât know why they wanted me here for this. I have no problem with Hordak. He treated me well enough. Now Shadow Weaver, she was someone whose bad side you didnât want to get on, or really any side of her, but Hordak was a decent boss.â
âScorpia, â Perfuma said, somewhat aghast, âHe killed your family. Your entire kingdom was lost because of him.â
âNah.â Scorpia replied, chuckling. âIâm pretty sure they all died fighting the Rebellion. Hordak didnât kill them.â
âHeâs directly responsible for the situation that led to their deaths. He started the war, and he sent your mothers to die on the front line!â Pefuma spoke, her voice rising with anger. âIf it hadnât been for him trying to conquer Etheria, youâd have a kingdom. Youâd have a family, and they would have still been alive to raise you!â
âHuh.â Scorpia rubbed her chin with the tip of a claw. âI hadnât really thought about it that way.â
âInstitutional violence is still violence.â Perfuma continued. âIf you set up a situation that leads to the deaths of those involved, you are still responsible, even if you didnât pull the trigger yourself.â
Scorpia shrugged. âIt never really felt personal, growing up. Living in the Horde, being soldiers, fighting the rebellion, thatâs just the way things were.â
âBecause you never knew any other life.â Perfuma replied. âYou couldnât know what they were doing to you, or that you had other options, until youâd spent enough time outside the Fright Zone to learn otherwise.â
Scorpia frowned in concentration, still thinking it over. âOkay, but doesnât that just put the blame for all this back on Horde Prime? Heâs the one who really started it. Hordak was just a clone, doing what he thought he was supposed to.â
Perfuma nodded, âThatâs what this tribunal is trying to figure out. How much accountability does Hordak have for his actions? Obviously, he was a brainwashed clone, a soldier for the Horde, but that doesnât absolve him of all the decisions he made.â She turned to look up at Scorpia. âAfter all, we have many examples of people who were raised in the Horde but decided to leave, despite their upbringing. Adora, you, even Catra in the end.â She smiled, reaching up to touch Scorpiaâs face. âGood hearts will show through, even when raised by the worst people.â
Scorpia glanced away bashfully, a glow coming to her cheeks.

Homemade infused oil making:
Extracting the essential oil from a herb is an industrial process, beyond the scope of domestic resources, but you can easily make an infused oil. This can be used as a lotion, poured onto a compress or added to a poultice. It is also a first step towards making a cream.
TO MAKE AN INFUSED OIL:
Bain-marie or double boiler (for hot infusions)
Wooden spoon
2-litre glass jar with sealable lid.
Muslin bag or cloth,for straining.
Rubber gloves
Dark glass bottles
Labels
you can use any vegetable oil as a base, although a light one without a strong flavour of its own is best;sunflower ,grapeseed or almond oil are favorites. There are three methods:
cold infusion.
sun infusion.
hot infusion.
1.COLD INFUSION:
For herbs like symphytum, which is high in valuable mucilage that would be destroyed by heat ,or for herbs so full of essential oil that they give up readily ,like Allium sativum, a cold infusion works best.Put a litre of oil into the glass jar,add enough herb to make a thick porridge-like mixture, and leave for a few weeks, shaking it daily.strain out the herb through muslin, bottle and label the oil.
2.SUN INFUSION:
This is the traditional method for Hypericum, which yields a red oil that is very valuable for treating burns and muscular strains. The method works well as long as there is enough sun for many other herbs ,but not for those that are high in volatile oils because there are fragile and may degrade in the sun .Simply put the herb and oil into the jar and stand it in the sun for about six weeks, shaking or turning it daily. Then strain and bottle the oil.For extra strength, you can add more herb to the oil and infuse it again.
3.HOT INFUSION:
Put the herb and oil into the top of the bain-marie(the oil must not be heated directly,or you will end up with fried herbs),and fill the bottom with water.Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 2 hours, stirring from time to time.Strain out the herb from the oil, then add more herb and repeat the process.Pour into dark glass bottles, seal and label.
Mysticism is a philosophical and theological teaching, as well as a special way of understanding and perceiving the world, based on emotions and intuition. Under the mystical experience, we understand the experience of direct personal communication, merging or comprehension of some absolute reality and absolute truth. The possibility of direct union with God or the Absolute is the essence of mysticism. The so-called mysteries - secret religious rites have been practiced in ancient Greece. The religions of ancient India has a very strong mystical aspect as well. For example, traditional yoga is a system of spiritual and physical practice, allowing to achieve mystical insight. Different schools of Buddhism offer different mystical methods. Zen is the most vivid mystical teaching in Buddhism. In China, the place of God in mystical religious practices is taken up by transcendent beginnings - Emptiness (Shunyata) in Buddhism and Tao in Taoism. Most Buddhist schools proclaim the importance of meditation and mystical contemplation as a means of achieving nirvana - merging with the universal void. The most characteristic and deepest in Jewish mysticism are Kabbalah and Hasidism. Kabbalah mainly offers methods of direct comprehension of God through sacred names and divine numbers, as well as through enthusiastic prayer. In Hawaii, mystical practices are carried out by the Kahunas. Â Kahunas are Hawaiian healers, mystical shamans who use the teaching that a person can heal himself with the help of special meditative exercises in their practice. "Ka" means "master", and "huna" means "secret". Therefore, a Kahuna is a master who is initiated into secret knowledge. In addition to this, Kahunas use phytotherapy, precious stones, color and music in their practice. (via Unveiling of the Mystics: The Kahunas part 1)
One minute course in herbal medicine. Ten very accessible, very safe and very versatile herbs, together with a brief description of some of their most frequently-encountered indications, all on one 3x5 index card. The back of the card is a certificate of completion signed by me, your instructor. I figure there are already herbal courses out there that only take weeks or months to complete, why not one that only takes a minute?đ . . . In all seriousness, i had this idea while i was writing, in a book that iâm working on, about how the learning of herbal healing is essentially endless (way more than a lifetimeâs work), but that even the smallest amount of learning can make a difference. And there are traditional healers who only use one herb or formula, and others who only use a handful (which was common in the Appalachian community i grew up in). If someone only knew these herbs, and worked with them and developed a relationship with them, they could do a lot of good, even if they didnât expand beyond this set of remedies. . . In my own practice i have a couple hundred plants whose medicine i use on a pretty regular basis, and several hundred more that i use less frequently. But i started out with relatively few herbs that i developed a deep familiarity with, and expanded from there. . . . #herbalmedicine #plantmedicine #oneminute #plants #remedies #naturalhealth #naturalremedies #clinicalherbalist #phytotherapy https://www.instagram.com/p/Bsr31OLBRrt/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=puj0g10oxo4d
