Golden tomatoes photographed with UVIVF as a commission from Lycored, a company which produces carotene concentrates among other goods. The outer two tomatoes have some red pigmentation which exhibits different shades of fluorescence in response to the UVA light source. Golden tomatoes contain increased amounts of ‘invisible’ carotenoids phytoene and photofluene which are active in the ultraviolet region of the EM spectrum.
