Skin care regime: Sun protection
When we talk about skin care there are so many products came in our mind for example day cream, night cream, cleanser, scrubs, exfoliators, masks and so on. But the first and most important step in any skin care regime is to protect your skin from sun. Trust me if you just not skip this step 50% of your problems like aging, tanning, visible lines on face, redness, pimples, sun scar will be gone on its own.
It is always the debate over sunscreen or sun block which is better and why? You will find dozens of stuffs on internet about sun block or sunscreen. But it is not the main problem the important issue is what do you required to protect skin and for how long. This article simply and precisely covers most of the content. Here are some important elements which needs to be in your mind before purchasing any skin screen or sun block for either male or female regardless of any age group.,
Firstly, any sun care brand which leaves white residue on skin that product is sun block because sun block creates external barrier sort of layer. It is sometime referring as physical sunscreen. In contrast, any sun care brand which absorbs into your skin and does not leaves any white pigmentation is known as sunscreen because sunscreen absorbs into your skin and chemically protects your skin from sun. Now the question arises which is better and why? Well, the answer varies from users to users also there is so authentic prove that only one is better because both protects your skin from UVA and UVB rays. So, for the selection between the two let us distribute skin in to two main categories; one is dry and other is oily (rest skin type can use any sun care product). As we know oily sin produces more sebum so the physical layer on skin messes up the looks so they need to use sunscreen or dry touch sunscreen whereas people with dry skin can use both, but sun blocks suit them more.
Secondly, what ingredients or other heads we look after selectin sun block or sunscreen? Well Titanium or Zinc are the main element in any sun block / sunscreen. It’s always mentions in the front of the product (e.g., Neutrogena Ultra Sheer dry touch Helioplex) if it’s not mentioned the product is not worth buying.
Thirdly, amount of protection based on persistent pigment darkening (PPD) reacting reading:
PA + (PD 2 – 4 hours)
PA++ (PD 4 – 8 hours)
PA+++ (PD more than 8 hours)
It does not mean PA ++ is better than PA+ its simply means you need to reapply it according to the above mention hours. Same rule applies in SPF (sun protecting factor). If you don’t want to reapply more frequently your sun care product buy any product which have higher SPF and PA+ or else you are good to go with any.
