About Finding Peace: Phyrria, six years after Darkness of Dragons.
Finding Peace kicks off six years after the events of Darkness of Dragons and Arc 3. Because Arc 3 is still in progress, I do my best not to cover Pantala to much, as I am trying to make Finding Peace be a story that could fit into Ms. Sutherland’s world. While I do not agree with her on how Arc 2’s ended, she is still the author and I think she is a brilliant story teller. My philosophy, as both a aspiring writer and a FanFiction writer, is to make characters as close to their canon versions as possible.
Now, delving into the topic of this post: Six years after Darkstalker’s defeat and the Pantalan arc, Phyrria is in a state of relative stability and peace.
Diplomatic relations between each of the seven tribes is strong, to the point that the queens have quarterly summits in Sanctuary to maintain dialogue between the rulers and as a way to discuss any issues in a neutral place. During these summits, many citizens from the various tribes come to Sanctuary and the town is bustling with merchants from the different tribes.
Individually, each tribe is stable...though some more so than others, such as the SeaWings (that’s a topic for another post.)
Outside of the politics of Phyrria, the continent itself has not changed much. Though, in recent months, a group of bandits have operated along the border of the Ice and Sand Kingdoms, raiding lone travelers and small groups, though avoiding larger traveling groups. By the time of Finding Peace: Queen Thorn and Snowfall have created a joint operation consisting of their most trusted dragons to root out and annihilate this band, with Qibli being in charge of the SandWing’s side of the operation.
While Pantalan and Phyrrian tribes interact, it is rare to see Pantalan dragons on Phyrria, but not uncommon. After the events of the “Pantalan War” some Hive, Leaf, SilkWings settled in Phyrria. One such HiveWing, Professor Longhorn, formerly from Jewel Hive, is currently a teacher at Jade Mountain academy, teaching arethmatic courses.
Ultimately, while Phyrria still has its dangers, it has relatively become much more safer in the last six years. Turns out the tribes not fighting pointless wars is actually beneficial for each other.
And yet, by the start of Finding Peace, something happens from within the shadows that will set off a chain of events that none of the tribes ever thought would happen.
