    “The fuck is this?” Jack cackled, pointing at the...him in front of him. Jack was in front of Jack. It was a Jack off! WAIT. OKAY. RE-DO. Hands resting on his hips, some version of a gleeful sneer on his face as he inspected the living legend in front of him. “Is this a joke? Did research and development do this? Seriously, the hell are you? The hell do you want?”

    Mismatched eyes squinted and rolled as if he figured out this whole shindig. “Jack. Clooooone. That’s you, right? Good to know they finally got the, uh, likeness down? Son of...a bitch, though. You’re a mess. Kinda dumber looking than the rest of the clones. You sure you’re not a defect? Ya look like a defect. Pretty sure you’re a defect.”

Helios, so far, had been a bit boring. She shouldn't be surprised by that. It was basically creatrd for people who worked there. While she'd been allowed to visit, it wasn't really a vacation spot. And she hated that her partner had had her come here. She'd suggested somewhere more scenic. Or just have him come to Hermes for a bit.

Instead, here she was, wandering around the space station wherever her visitor pass allowed. And she'd already gotten lost. Groaning, she roughly swiped a hand through her fringe. All the halls looked the same. [And her lack of doing finger guns at people tipped them off that she wasn't working there.]

who cooks normally?: Neither. Too much work.

how often do they fight?: Their fights aren’t even real fights. It’s just one person yelling and/or going off about something while the other one is sitting there like “Oh...mhm...okay...Yeah, of course, I’m listening to you..” While they’re really not giving a fuck. This happens at least once a week.

what do they do when they’re away from each other?: Cordelia has parties!!! She rejoices!!! She’s relieved!!! Sksksksks. But honestly? She gets really bored without having Jack messing with her, so she ends up contacting him over her ECHO thingy.

nicknames for each other?: Jack calls Cordelia everything from cupcake to sugartits ksksksk. She calls him jackass, Jacky sometimes, and if she’s in a really good mood then she might call him something sweet like mon cheri or cher.

who is more likely to pay for dinner?: Jack. He always likes to flex on Cordie.

who steals the covers at night?: Cordelia has a bad cuddling habit and by bad cuddling habit, I mean that she literally sleeps on top of her partners at times. So they really both end up getting the same amount of cover.

what would they get each other for gifts?: Cordelia would get him nothing because she’s a broke bitch and she feels like he already has everything he needs. Jack would probably get her clothes that actually cover her up.

who remembers things?: Cordelia. Jack swears up and down that he remembers things, but most of the things he says that he remembers are things he made up.

who cusses more?: There’s not an hour that goes by where Cordelia doesn’t say “Holy fucking grits!” or “God fucking dammit, Jack!”

what would they do if the other one was hurt?: Being a medic, Cordelia would obviously help Jack out. She wouldn’t even bother asking who hurt him because she knows that they would already be dead.

who kissed who first?: Cordelia did technically. He asked her to kiss him and well, she did it.

who made the first move?: Jack, duh. He’s been making moves on her since she started working for Hyperion sksksk.

“No? My gram doesn’t own any horses.” Jack’s brows furrow as he makes a hole in the bush, looking through it and narrowing his eyes. “Are we really gonna steal a horse? What about breaking in and gettin’ some money or somethin’?” That was the real goal. Jack was currently trying to scrounge up enough cash to move out, and so far he only had about $5. Tough times out there, especially for an 8 year old.

The words hit her so unexpectedly, she nearly tripped over herself, turning to look at him, her eyebrows raised. Handsome Jack, owner of Hyperion and Pandora. A man who can have almost anyone he wants. Asking her not to leave. It wasn’t an order, either. [He’d already learned that didn’t work with her.] It was almost a plea. Maybe it was because he was tired. 

She blinks at him at the request. [Was that the right word?] She isn’t sure what to even say. Surely he’s got other options: people who are more interested in him. Interesting to him, moreso. She shifted anxiously on her feet, frowning a little bit. 

❝Why?❞ Surely he was just fucking with her. He didn’t want to actually kiss her. She looked away from him for a moment. But barely gave him a chance to explain. It didn’t even really matter, did it? 

No. It didn’t. He had to be fucking with her. Crossing her arms over her chest, she practically scowled at him. This was probably some bullshit where she’d say “okay” and he’d laugh because she had a crush on him and wasn’t that just a riot. Wouldn’t be the first time. ❝This isn’t the time to give me shit, Jack. Not here to let you have a laugh at my expense.❞

Mairwen let out a low hum at his question, a small little noise of acknowledgment. She wasn’t entirely awake enough to give him a real answer, but she shifted in the bed to rest her cheek against his chest and practically purred as his hand threaded through her hair. Smiling slightly, she pressed a kiss against his skin, opening her eyes to look up at him.
