The Royal Enclosure welcomed a distinguished royal gathering yesterday as Queen Anna was joined by her sister, Princess Georgina, and cousins Princess Elizabeth and Princess Catherine for the annual Ladies' Day at the Astrarian Summer Races.
The occasion marked Princess Georgina's first official engagement since leaving hospital, and her first public appearance since the Palace announced last week that she and her husband, The Earl of Wexford, are expecting their first child. Looking relaxed and in excellent health, the Princess was warmly greeted by racegoers as she accompanied Her Majesty throughout the afternoon.
Joining the sisters were their cousins, Princess Elizabeth and Princess Catherine. Princess Elizabeth, now approaching her third trimester with her second child, looked elegant in a floral yellow maternity dress and matching hat, while Princess Catherine chose an emerald green floral dress for the occasion. Queen Anna completed the quartet in a delicate blush pink pinstriped ensemble, perfectly suited to the glorious summer weather.
The Royal Party arrived to applause and support from the crowds.
The four women spent much of the afternoon greeting racegoers before taking their places in the Royal Box, where they enjoyed several of the day's feature races and met jockeys, owners and representatives from the Astrarian Racing Trust. Queen Anna later presented the trophy following the feature race.
Inside the Royal Box, the cousins were seen chatting and laughing together, with Princess Catherine and Princess Elizabeth sharing a particularly animated conversation while awaiting the next race. Princess Georgina also appeared in excellent spirits throughout the afternoon as well-wishers welcomed her return to public life.

Noticeably absent from this year's gathering were several members of the Huntington family. Phoebe Huntington, daughter of Charlotte, Princess Royal, was unable to attend, as were Amelia Huntington, widow of the late Major Jameson Huntington II, and her daughter Zara Huntington, the Queen's goddaughter. Palace sources confirmed the family members were unable to attend owing to longstanding private commitments.
As the horses thundered down the final straight, the Queen and Princess Catherine joined spectators in applauding another memorable afternoon of racing, bringing to a close one of the highlights of Astrary's summer social season.

Queen Annaâs state visit to Sahradia concluded this evening with a formal State Banquet hosted by King Abdul and Queen Consort Leila at the Royal Palace in Zaharaan.
The banquet marked the final major engagement of the visit, bringing together senior members of both royal households, government officials, military representatives and leading figures from Sahradian public life following several days of diplomatic, military and community-focused engagements across the country.
Her Majesty arrived alongside her husband, Prince Geoffrey, Duke of Huxley, and was welcomed by King Abdul and Queen Leila at the palace entrance before the royal party proceeded into the State Hall for the evening reception.

Also in attendance were Crown Prince Kareem, Princess Amira and the King and Queenâs youngest daughter, Princess Iman, whose appearance alongside the senior members of the Sahradian royal family completed the formal family gathering for the closing event of the visit.
The banquet followed a significant week of engagements for Queen Anna, including visits focused on early years support, healthcare, military cooperation and the ongoing response to the Kharet Aydan chemical explosion. Palace aides described the visit as one centred on âfriendship, partnership and shared responsibility.â
The King led the first waltz with Queen Anna.
During the evening, King Abdul praised the âhistoric and enduring relationshipâ between Astrary and Sahradia, while Queen Anna reflected on the importance of cooperation during periods of uncertainty and change.
âThis visit has been a reminder that friendship between nations is built not only through ceremony, but through service, understanding and shared humanity,â the Queen told guests.
The State Banquet also provided one of the most formal visual moments of the tour, with members of both royal households appearing in full evening dress and state decorations beneath the palaceâs historic chandeliers.
The royal party is expected to depart Sahradia tomorrow morning.
