The Matchbook
Made a photo book some few years ago consisting of aprox.160 pages. It contains photocopies of randomly thrown matches onto a photocopying machine. Partly I would copy the result a second time but then moving the copy back and forth. This way it seems that the matches are moving, in a way. Would as well open up used toner capsules and trying to apply the black powder on the paper, tried to dissolve it with turpentine, but nitro works best. It makes easily streaks and dots, one can not work on that with a brush. Due to the chemicals I added to the process the paper got somehow translucent and the pigments were bleeding into the paper, so the back of the copies show an unpredictable echo of that what is on the front.
Find above the first eight spreads of the book.
