Phloyron by David Pulsford in Composer Portraits

This is a track called Phloyron which I made, along with other artists, for the 50th release of the German label Klangscheiben. It epitomises the sort of thing I do as Liudprand. It is rhythmic in a hypnotic way and full of different sounds. I make my own samples from just about anything and then pick out small parts and make adjustments, adding effects as I feel necessary. I have heard it said that this is just knob twiddling but it is not. It is very intensive and detailed work that I try to make as interesting as possible using a plethora of virtual instruments and arrangement techniques. One is always learning new stuff. I am not a DJ and could not improvise the way some do. But making music in two ways brings two different worlds together.
I was given a nice write up by the label for my first album, “Noctilucent”.
If you think modern electronic music is just for people in the younger age, you are wrong.
