So last night I went out to #philly4pulse with @tbaum1120 @toridreyer and @jacqueg96 amazing time I heard speeches from 2 bartenders from #PulseNightClub and the owners of some of the bars in Philly. Unity within our community. It was a beautiful experience getting to be myself in a safe place laughing and dancing with the people I can call a family. I also performed in a lipsync battle and won, I essentially opened for @roxxxyandrews She gave a lovely speech and I had the honor of watching her perform. #me #SheaChanel (at ICANDY)

I don't know why Florida just kicked in. A total of about 100 are dead and wounded because of who they love/loved. Because they were/are gay. In high school I was persecuted for being gay and (forced) "out of the closet." It was so bad that I tried swallowing a bottle of pills bc of it. I threw up that whole night, both bc of my body rejecting the medication and of disgust. Disgust in myself for letting heartless pricks get to me. That was 13 years ago and I had finally started accepting myself. I held hand with my gf of 3 years in public, introducing her as my gf to strangers, friends and family. And then Florida happens. And Im terrified all over again.
