Bahala Na Si Batman
I've been thinking about the Filipino sentence "Bahala na si Batman" it translate to something like "Batman has a plan"/"Leave it to Batman" and is the Filipino equivalent of Jesus take the wheel. The really interesting thing about it is that the original saying went "Bahala na si Bathala". Bathala being the highest Diety in pre-colonial times. So Batman basically took over the role of Bathala due to his constant presence in mainstream media.
The question I have is: Do the Filipinos in the DC universe also use the phrase? I looked and there're like three (3) filipino people in the entirety of DC, which is a shame, and all of them are obscure side characters.
Does using the saying basically deify Batman? Their world has stated multiple times that belief is an incredibly powerful magical source. Can Bruce be made immortal if the Cryptic Rumours would be combined with Filipino and other cultures integration of Batman as a higher being??? Would his children be affected, too? Are the batkids then demigods or deities in their own right?
What would be Bruce's reaction to basically be known as the collateral damage guy for the entire Philippines? Also, Gods and Dieties are real in DC: What would BATHALA'S reaction be to being replaced with a human who seems to reach interplanetary levels of competence due to his childhood trauma???
Feeling nostalgic for him so rethinking a possible redesign🐝
(he really was my comfort back in 2020 huh)

Spoliarium. By Juan Luna. 1884. Fragment.
"Spoliarium" refers to the basement of the Roman Colosseum, where fallen gladiators were stripped of their gear. Something like the arena bloodworks in Oblivion. Funny thing, in game there's an infestation of vampires under it. They must be gathering blood like rainwater there. Anyway, this poignant masterpiece I discovered by following a lead from talking to @choilacanth about Filipino artists. Juan Luna has many equally evocative pieces in his oeuvre, including a naval battle scene close up.
