It’s really wild that everything we all have said about white privilege came true the minute the eagles won the Super Bowl. I was freshly 21 about to pledge my frat, walking to the library to get some studying done when I had heard that Trayvon Martin died.
My mom was worried about my brother who was in high school at the time. I didn’t have tv that I could watch freely but Mom was worried and that was enough.
Soon I learned about this boy who George Zimmerman slaughtered. This boy who had an Arizona ice tea and some skittles who was taken from this earth prematurely.
I saw Baltimore burn because of Freddie Gray.
I saw Ferguson rise because of Mike Brown.

flash forward 6 years in the future and Trump has his Cheeto dust dirtying up the White House and philly erupted over the eagles.
No one said anything. No one cared about the community they destroyed, the people they hurt.
I didn’t hear one thing about their community. You only care about bricks and cement when black bodies stand on them, when our anger soils them.
