"Tony?" Steve questions with an arch of an eyebrow as the man shoves him backwards until his back hits the nearby wall. Steve grunts in response, mainly out of surprise of the impact. There is no pain, though the shove isn't exactly gentle.  

At first, he thinks Tony is pissed at him. It wouldn't be the first time, it won't be the last, but that look in Tony's gaze? That's not anger. That's something else. The kind of look that has Steve's breath hitching in his throat himself as realization washes over him. 

Oh. 

Bucky is the last person that either of them want to be dealing with a drunk Tony Stark. Unfortunately, he's also the only person around when Tony gets so drunk that he needs help getting around. He'd spotted him on his walk home, stumbling out of a bar, and hadn't hesitated to cross the distance and wrap an arm around Tony to steady him. 

It doesn't feel right to just leave him here, despite their dark history. Before now, the soldier had been happy to avoid Tony at all costs. The man hates him and he can't blame him, so he'd been content to stay out of his way, but now? Well, he'd just feel all the more guilty if something happened to the man while he's drunk out of his mind. 

Seeing as he doesn't exactly know if Tony has his own home outside of the Avengers tower, or where else he would even live, Bucky decides to take him back to the tower. He manages to hail a cab back, ignoring any protests Tony gives, and within the hour they have made it back to and into the Avengers tower. 

With an arm wrapped around Tony's waist to ensure he remains standing, they move carefully through the tower towards one of the many bedrooms. It doesn't matter who's room it technically is, as long as he manages to get Tony to a safe place. 

"Almost there." He mutters, his grip firm enough that he's not exactly giving Tony a choice as he drags him from point at to point be and when they finally reach a room, he guides Tony to lay down in one of the beds nearby.
