What's a communication charm?
Com charms come in many shapes. Since all satellites were destroyed, we had to rely on ground only communication systems. At some point we made a magic alternative. A small accessible 2 way crystals anyone can have.
-The one use ones can call anyone! They lose charge (Radiance) after use. The can be brought to a communication center for a new charge.
-Personal ones are bound to one other meaning you can only call the bound token with it. Because of this, it is required to get them in unique shapes. So you don't call the wrong person.
-Public ones are all connected to a hub crystal. They act as street lamps. They are used to communicate weather, announcements, and emergencies.
The communication crystals are all yellow. Though the hub crystal (which is huge) is white. The hub crystal can protect what is said around it to its connected crystals but not the other way around. Some towns have multiple hub crystals the lamps are connected to. Incase of emergency, however they are alot harder to make.
Communications centers often have booths that automatically charge one use crystals they charge you a fee to use. If you do not have any one use crystals, they also have booths that have one use ones embedded into a charger you can use also for cheaper then buying a new one. If you need to call alot, it is cheaper to buy your own and only pay a small amount to get it recharged every time. If you only make very few calls, then it's easier just to use one of the centers crystals.
With the right set up, the crystals can also project images. Though all communication centers charge alot for that as it is expensive to set up and maintain. These booths take in personal charms as well.
