I want to SCREAM at the girl I'm training at work she's made some comments and I KNOW she is anti-mask but she's from the middle of nowhere so OF COURSE she is, it's not a personal decision she put any thought into, it's just what all her friends and family have been doing this whole time. We can't wear masks at our desks since we're constantly answering the phone and customers already complain they can't hear us without a layer of fabric between us and them. But that means she's breathing 3 feet from me every damn day.
And other than that we have a lot in common! Similar upbringing, compatible conversation style, we're both curious about new meds and how they work, we've taken almost identical career paths to this point, and also she's going to be REALLY GOOD AT THIS JOB!!! So I don't have to be her best friend but I DO have to be nice, we really need her help. As a pretty political person if I'm going to tolerate her long term I'm gonna need to slowly drag her left over the course of our time sharing a cube, and that's doable because she seems smart, but first I have to NOT get COVID from her and I'm FURIOUS about it!!!!!!! Especially this close to being able to get vaccinated. Feels like I'd have zero reason not to get along with her under any other circumstances.
