Ashe: *mindlessly playing with Pharah’s hair beads while Pharah sleeps*

Pharah: *grunts in her sleep* 

Ashe: *stops*

Pharah: *opens one eye* You can keep going if you want.

Ashe: Sorry they’re just... shiny.

Pharah: *snorts* I don’t mind. I like having my hair played with.

Ashe: Good to know, bluebird. Now, your thoughts on hair-pulling?

Due to the criminal lack of Pharashe art on the internet, I decided to make my own.

McCree: She’s smart, but she doesn’t know you like I do.

Ashe: You don’t know me.

McCree: I know you’re a pain in the ass. That’s what I know.

Ashe: *examining her nails* Mm.

McCree: She’s good people, Ashe. And I won’t have you messing with her just to get to me.

Ashe: *glances up from her nails* Tch. Poor Jesse McCree can’t fathom that people can like other people without it having anything to do with him. *leans forward* I’m not with her because it bothers you, though I won’t lie, it is fun to watch you twist in the wind. I know she’s good people. And you can rest assured that I’ll put a hell of a lot more care into this relationship than you did with ours. 

McCree: ...

Ashe: You assume I kept Deadlock going out of some kind of spite or longing for you. I didn’t. I kept Deadlock going because they’re my family. And I give a shit about them. I give a shit about people, Jesse. 

McCree: You give a shit about people you can control.

Ashe: No-no-no--See... you’re not easy to control, you’re just predictable. Big difference.

McCree: And Pharah? What about her?

Ashe: If you think I’m trying to control her, you don’t know me and you sure as hell don’t know her.

McCree: So I’m just supposed to believe you have no ulterior motives here?

Ashe: ...I mean... getting laid? But I think I’m being pretty straightforward about that. Not really ulterior.

McCree: For god’s sake--

Ashe: Now maybe you operate under the assumption that Fareeha is your sweet baby sister whose virtue you must protect because, hey, turning everyone in this fucked up organization into some sort of family member helped you cope with pretty much wearing an ankle bracelet with them. But let’s be clear here: You ‘protecting’ Fareeha isn’t about Fareeha. You protecting Fareeha is about you. She’s a grown-ass woman, Jesse. If she was objecting to my having a finger in her pie, I assure you, she would let me know.

McCree: ...Please never say “finger in her pie” again.

McCree: Ashe.

Ashe: Jesse.

McCree: You didn’t--

Ashe: Oh I did. Now, what can I help you with?

McCree: ...

Ashe: *brings the shirt up over her nose and inhales deeply before letting the shirt drop back down again without breaking eye-contact with McCree*

McCree: ...

Ashe: Take your time.

McCree: ...I thought I’d check on Pharah seeing as she didn’t show up to breakfast.

Ashe: Oh don’t you worry, she got her breakfast, *wipes at the corner of her mouth* and I got mine.

McCree: Pretty sure that doesn’t count as breakfast.

>They meet when Overwatch has a mission to bust a major weapons deal and alliance between Deadlock and Talon in the southwest. The deal goes south and Talon turns on Deadlock and Ashe and Pharah end up rescuing each other... albeit while arguing and driving each other crazy the whole time. By the end of the whole ordeal, Pharah says she’s not turning Ashe in to the authorities... “This time.” Ashe promises that Deadlock is willing to fight Talon “But don’t think this means we’re all chummy.”

>A line of communication is established between Deadlock and Overwatch. Ashe flat out refuses to talk to Jesse, so Pharah ends up becoming the primary liaison between the two groups. Vidcom conversations go from simple status updates and reports of Talon activity in the southwest to long conversations. It turns out both Ashe and Pharah have pretty complicated relationships with their families. It’s good bonding.

>One day Ashe doesn’t report in. McCree suspects that maybe Talon and Deadlock worked out a deal, but Pharah’s doubtful. She assembles a strike team to hit up Deadlock Gorge to investigate. What follows is a dramatic rescue with Pharah flying away and carrying Ashe princess-style out of a burning bunker.

Ashe: *holding Bob’s head* Urgh--I had it handled.

Pharah: Sure you did.

Ashe: I did.

Pharah: Uh huh.

Ashe: I don’t need a babysitter. And I certainly don’t need a babysitter cop.

Pharah: Not a cop.

Ashe: Basically a cop.

Pharah: *snort* If that’s how you feel, I can always drop you.

Ashe: *instantly flinching and wrapping one arm around Pharah’s neck* Goddamn comedian, that’s what you are.
