Todays and Tomorrows | Tetsuya & Kai
She was finally free.
Her shift that morning had possibly been the absolute busiest of that week. A group of tourists had stopped by to sample Drachill's finest ramen, which meant she had her hands full with serving up bowls of the steaming stuff to a shop full of needy customers, while having to slap away the wandering hands of the some of the more shameless patrons. If it were up to her, she would have punched their faces in, but she couldn't afford to lose this job at the risk of disappointing Ujiyasu. True, their family was kind of rich, but he's always asserted that she needed to learn the value of hard-earned money so she was stuck with the job.
Overall it was a mixed bag. Sure there were perverts, but at least most of the tourists left her some pretty heavy tips. The bear princess stood outside the shop, stretching her arms with a satisfied grin on her lips at the prospect of having a day off the next day. Maybe she could go on a sorely-needed shopping trip or stay at the compound and train.
That was when she spotted an innocent-looking teenager with light blue hair making his way down the street, a small, gray and white dog accompanying him. The boy was probably a couple of years younger than her, and he was minding his own business but Kai has never been one for tact, so she squealed and rushed over with the dumbest grin curving her painted lips. The brunette bent down slightly, hands on her knees, to get a closer look at the small thing.
"Is this your dog? Can I pet him? Can I...hug him? I can, can I?" She threw the owner a questioning glance and was a bit surprised to see that he resembled his dog in a way. It was probably the eyes.
