It's so strange to me seeing all these people surprised that Zayn would"touch" a 1D song when really, it's not that unseemly to me. This is why I hate the way something becomes true just bc it's been repeated enough. Like Zayn expressed frustration with not writing for 1d (or his writing being rejected) and called their music generic as fuck (which, maybe mean but still kinda true and funny) and on one hand 1d/harry fans use it to say he hated the band and their fans, and on the other hand zquads (and associates) use it to distance him from the band he was obviously too good for. Like I'm not going to dive into my 1d feelings bc those are numerous, but I always found it unfair to Zayn to act like he wasn't part of the band, bc it's just not true.

My surprise was that he hasnāt touched anything 1d related for seven yearsānot following the others on sm, not clapping back at anything theyāve said, with the exception of that one exchange with Louis, and certainly not singing any of their songs. I only listen to You and I for his harmonizing, especially that high note, so it was amazing that he posted that snippet.
