💕 Be My Peterick Valentine 2022! 💕

Hello, everyone!

Valentines’s Day is in just a few weeks, and what better way to celebrate than with some new Peterick fics?

As always, here are the rules:

1) You write a Valentine’s Day-themed Peterick fic! You can write angst or fluff or smut, romance or heartbreak, your favorite tropes to anything else you can imagine.

2) Please do a one-shot (or, if you want it chaptered, please post the full fic in one go, for fairness). It doesn’t matter if it’s 1k or 10k, the length is up to you!

3) That’s it!

The posting date will be February 14th - so, still about month to sit down and write your story. (We usually leave the collection open for a few more days, so don’t feel too stressed!)

And Patrick… Patrick can understand that, too. Because as much as he likes going trick-or-treating in his mom’s neighborhood and being half of a two-man team with his son, it does get lonely, sometimes. Most of the people he encounters there are married couples, single moms, and the occasional grandparents. The prospect of spending the night with Pete, his best friend, their kids wandering around together and trading candy afterward, is one that fills Patrick with joy.

  Plus, a part of him has been fantasizing that maybe, once the kids have all fallen asleep, he and Pete will curl up together on the couch and watch a movie, and maybe Pete’s head will fall onto his shoulder, and maybe one thing will lead to another and he’ll wake up the next morning with Pete in his arms.

  Patrick may be caught up in said fantasy when he asks, “So what about our costumes?”

  Pete and Patrick may or may not be doing a Couple's Costume, and it may or may not be A Thing.

Summary:

When it came to Christmas, there was one area where his family fell short: presents. As selfish as it sounded to say, Patrick never got any gifts that he really enjoyed. He’d ask for plushies, instruments, and toy cars; he’d end up with baby dolls, dresses, and nail polish, all marked with identical gift tags.

‘To Patricia, Love Santa’.

Patrick decides it might be a good idea to explain that he has no intention of causing Pete any physical harm before he goes ahead and causes himself physical harm. “Hey,” he says again. “I have a — hey, stop screaming — a favour to ask you.”

Pete does not stop screaming. Instead of not screaming, Pete intensifies his efforts as he attempts to focus his motor control on the proper use and function of a basic push-down door handle. If Patrick had physical presence, he would help him. Probably. Instead he watches, nonplussed, and waits for Pete to… tire himself out or something.

“It’s a door handle,” he tells Pete helpfully. And he is trying very hard to be helpful which is difficult, because it’s not really a state that comes naturally to him. He has no evidence to the contrary but he’s starting to suspect that Pete may struggle in certain areas of academic and cortical function. “You push it — no, push it. Down. Stop screaming. Okay, like that, yeah, just—”

“Oshkeebah,” Pete declares, a fluent speaker of advanced, panicked Russian in his attempt to escape from — Patrick feels — the most physically unthreatening ghost in a long and varied history of ghosts.

“You’re overreacting,” Patrick informs him. “You need to — seriously, stop screaming — calm down.”

Guts Can’t Be Reworked 17k, explicit, pete/patrick

If anybody had asked Pete before today why he drove the ten miles out of town to get his pumpkin from Vaughn Farm every October, rather than one from the Target around the corner from his apartment, he would tell them honestly: he likes supporting small businesses and he likes the Vaughns.

Plus, they have the biggest, best pumpkins in Illinois. No doubt about it.

These are all very true things he could tell someone, but as Pete finds out on his fourth October visit to the Vaughns, there are other, much more enticing reasons to visit the farm. One enticing reason in particular. An enticing reason with plush lips and beautiful grey-blue eyes and feathery copper hair and a Racetraitor hat.
