i do really love the nether hub's giant flowers all over though. i maybe overdid the size of the wisteria vines but that's okay! learning a lot abt using glass to fluff up foliage and simplifying... a lot of these are based on crochet flower designs, which already have geometric & simplified elements.
workin' on the sunflowers for the pages nether hub greenhouse! i really struggled with small-ish but legible sunflower designs; i think in screenshots these might read a little like daffodils, but it is clearer in game.
specifically i referenced crochet flowers for both these and the giant wisteria on the opposite side. although ofc you can do more shapes and curves in real crochet & not all designs translate, the logic of simplifying flowers into clusters that suggest a shape rather than trying to create the object from in game pixel art or the irl equivalent was super helpful & i think will give the whole hub a very distinct look
reasons going to an ancient city is a great thing to do as soon as you have a little food upon starting a new minecraft world:
moving mobs around sucks, just go harvest wool and planks from the city to make a bed instead of messing around with sheep!
don't have to worry about being attacked by hostile mobs at all
can harvest materials for picks, very easy to go from iron -> diamonds due to all the exposed ores, way easier than strip mining
lava and water usually accessible if you want a nether portal
one million experience for breaking sculk !! plus silk touch + mending loot
free books for enchanting
if you run out of food u get glowberries (renewable) and even gapples
it's a little known fact that it's actually impossible to build anything in 1.18+ without swift sneak 3. you'll never go back you have to have it right now
start off with sick armor trims to decorate all those pants you'll be getting
oh, the warden? you mean my girlfriend? she's fine just know your exit vectors (long straight line you can navigate in the dark) and don't make noise, just sneak straight. you'll be fine

tested out doing multiplayer from my large biome (normally) singleplayer world.. have been revamping the horse area of pages continent and @beeelderly came to help me install a bee farm. the connnection ended but thru the power of digital art beau communicated the Vision and i'm very very happy with how it turned out
