Magical Creatures Warehouse 13 AU
Draconic Artie
Werewolf Myka
Gargoyle Pete
Witch Claudia
Changeling Steve
Vampire HG
Caretaker Mrs. Frederic
Random Details:
Caretakers are vaguely fae-like supernatural creatures. Basically function the same as canon, except up the uncannyness to 11 and give them all kinds of warehouse related bullshit. Functionally immortal when in the warehouse. Weird symbiotic bond with the warehouse, theyâre not necessarily the same mind but think classic âpsychic twinsâ sort of thing.
Artie isnât actually a dragon, but he has a lot of dragon traits, unclear how he developed them, but he has thicker, rougher skin than a human, and his voice is a lot stronger when he tries. His presence is intimidating to pretty much everyone when heâs genuinely mad.
Pete doesnât really feel temperature, but his skin is ice-cold to the touch and his lips and fingertips are always tinged blue.
Myka got turned shortly before she met Sam, and she told Sam before they became lovers.
HG sought out a vampire to turn her after Christina died, specifically so she could drain Christinaâs killers herself.
Claudia doesnât use magic very consciously, but it tends to bend the world around her to her needs. Usually, this just means her inventions donât fail as often, or she doesnât get zapped even when not following electrical safety protocols, but sometimes the change is much bigger.
Claudia is much worse off in episode four because her magic has been exhausting itself helping to keep her alive and protecting her long enough to find the warehouse and Artie and get Joshua back.
Magic isnât super well known, itâs not a secret but it isnât something that gets a lot of media coverage so most people donât know about it unless it personally affects them.
Steve doesnât know what happened to the âoriginal Steveâ. His parents know heâs a changeling though, and while it doesnât have as big of an effect as it could on their view of him, their relationship has always been a little strained in ways Steve only really started to see into adulthood.
Olivia always treated Steve as her brother, but as a different person from âStevieâ, the original child who wandered into the fae realm. Because of this, Steve always saw Stevie as a brother heâd never met.
The longer Claudia spends in the warehouse, the more it can change itself or have a bigger effect on reality by pulling slightly on her magic. She doesnât notice this. Artie starts catching on halfway through season one.
Artie has naturally warm skin but never really gets hot or cold. He never has to wear mitts taking cookies out of the oven.
Itâs just as unclear as in canon what exactly is up with Leena, but she knows whatâs up with you.
Macphearson is actually fully human, but the shadows are a little deeper where he stands, and you shouldnât listen too closely to the whistling of the wind when heâs nearby.
HG managed to avoid being caught as a vampire by the regents until after she was unbronzed, though Wolly knew.
Myka tends to depersonalize her werewolf-ness as much as possible, and basically doesnât acknowledge it at all unless itâs relevant in which case she addresses it very noticeably professionally.
Claudia canât consciously affect luck or rearrange reality despite how much it happens around her without her input. When she actively uses magic, itâs typically in the form of electricity because of her familiarity with it. As she invents more things in the warehouse she gets used to manipulating metal. (She also figures out how to weld very quickly.)
Artie knows tons about magic and mythical creatures because otherwise itâs hard to figure out what is an artifact and whatâs a Qilin or something.
Part of why Pete is so animated and moving all the time is because if he stops paying attention, he goes stone still (pardon the pun). He freaked a lot of people out in high school and college before he started masking that.
Something about Steve unnerves people but if you asked them, they wouldnât be able to tell you what the problem is.
When Artie gets too stressed his hands lock up in a curled position like a bird of prey. It annoys him to no end because itâs basically impossible to let go of whatever heâs holding until he feels better.
HG feeds mostly on animals in small enough amounts to leave them fine, but she doesnât really care about feeding on humans she thinks deserve it. (We love morally grey women in this house)
Pete always knows when someone is magical.
He also always knows when itâs going to rain.
Claudia basically didnât take care of herself for years because her magic kept her alive so she didnât notice. Itâs a learning process developing healthy habits like eating and drinking.
Neither Joshua nor Claire are magic.
All applicable characters still have their âsuperpowersâ/special skills (ie. Peteâs vibes or Steveâs lie detecting) but they are notably not related to being magical or creatures. Theyâre weird by their own merits thank you very much.
The whole warehouse fam is Weird, but they very quickly fall into each otherâs patterns and twist around their quirks until youâd almost think theyâre normal if you glance by too quickly.
Outside of missions the vibe in the b&b is very strong uncanny sitcom.
Myka gets more âwolfyâ the more comfortable she gets with everyone, and the more comfortable they help her be with herself. (She never hated her werewolf side, she compartmentalizes too much for that, but it was always a tool, always something off to the side, rather than a part of her.)
Vampires operate under more âDraculaâ rules than âNosferatuâ rules, the sun weakens them to slightly below an average human but it wonât kill them. During the night they are physically very tough, the only exceptions to that are the classic weaknesses which work as well as youâd expect.
The residents of Univille still hate the agents. Itâs still because they all think theyâre IRS.
Because of her magic, Claudiaâs the hardest member of the team to kill. This changes basically nothing as nobody is willing to put her in unnecessary danger same as canon. (Because she is a teenager.) (I donât fully understand all the stuff with Claudiaâs age but Iâm going with her being 19 in the latter half of season one and 21 in season four. Extrapolate from there)
Artifacts react to magical creatures slightly differently depending on the artifact and the creature, this makes 100 things harder for every 3 things it makes easier.
Pete weighs more than he reasonably should, but only when itâs convenient for him.
Mykaâs joints bend just slightly wrong, usually not enough to notice.
HG has very little sense of taste, this doesnât really bother her.
After being bronzed, HG looks tan in low light, she exploits this a lot to avoid being recognized.
Pete canât swim.
Magic works differently for different witches, typically itâs not very powerful, Claudia is very much an exception (probably because of her connection to the warehouse but maybe not. Who knows?) Claudia doesnât actually realize how powerful her magic is for a long time because it works in invisible ways or itâs doing things itâs been doing for so long she doesnât notice. (Like keeping her alive)
Steve moves wrong, just slightly too twitchy, before moving too smoothly. He also doesnât hold his head up quite right.
Pete doesnât really sleep, he just goes really still and enters âpower-saving modeâ during which his skin becomes stone and he canât move. He can perceive though.
Later on, Myka lets Pete hang out with her on full moons if heâs in gargoyle mode because she canât hurt him and doesnât feel any need to. Everyone else stays inside the b&b on her request.
Artie uses an industrial sander to file down his nails, he almost gave Claudia a heart attack the first time she saw it.
After the Metronome, Steve can always feel Claudiaâs magic, and through it he pretty much always knows how far away she is and how sheâs feeling. He ends up getting sent to retrieve her from inventory duty a lot. It also helps him navigate the warehouse stacks.
Artie doesnât have a caretaker level connection to the warehouse, but he does know where every artifact heâs retrieved is and remembers every single one.
HG always knows what time it is.
I havenât decided if this is a fix-it AU yet. (it probably will be, knowing myself. Also because it would be slightly boring to just retell the original story basically as it happened rather than with snowballing changes leading to a greater theme as is my preference.)
Iâll probably also add more to this later.
Okay it's hard to send asks about blorbo thoughts since I live with you and we talk about stuff a lot but like okay so. Pete Lattimer's tiddies.
I was gonna do a scenario or something but actually no, just gonna leave it at that.
Well when this is what you get when you say that
I mean... how can I not? I love Pete anyway (I am a sucker for a labrador retriever of a man who is also kinda dumb but incredibly kind and compassionate and also goofy...which is like 5/8 of my blorbos (the rest are crabby assholes who are secretly soft, robotic dudes... and ethereal badasses)...BUT THEM TIDDY Like. This man could give Aether and Omega Ghouls a run for their money with tits. His shirts are begging to be put out of their misery. The man puts his hands on his hips a LOT and I stg if he flexed he could be an assassin with just a button. He'd take me out, no problem. Of course I'd be taken out by his tits before he flexed, to be fair. Like this is what was considered hot in 2009 or whenever this was and I absolutely MISS that. No waxing (he has chest hair thank god), and no abs to speak of, but look at those hip nibblies. Look at that tit definition. This is a man you want to motorboat. Pete's tiddies would fix me. (I also love most of the characters on this show they're entertaining but also fun. What can I say? Warehouse's first couple of seasons really nailed the kind of weird funky sci-fi I like.)
(I do have about one billion other blorbos, so if you don't know or can't think of any, feel free to ask Vintage here, and they'll help out! Or just ask me to pick a blorbo and rhapsodize.)
Omg another Bering & Wells shipper? In 2026??
Yay yippee đ„ł
(I need to post more about them)
Haha, yes! I do ship them and I ship Pete & Myka queerplatonically. Plus all three of them in a triad, but Pete is more like their queerplatonic third who is kind of also their "pet'.
I need to rewatch Warehouse 13... Such a good show!
You also have reminded me I need to update my pinned post with my PHM ships.
I know I've mostly been posting Artie gifs during my recent Warehouse 13 Brainrot (tm), but I really need to gif this scene
in which Pete's shirt buttons struggle for their lives across his tits.

I Wish They Stayed Platonic Tournament - Round 4 - Poll 8
Who would you like to have stayed platonic?
Myka Bering and Pete Latimer (Warehouse 13)
Kira Nerys and Odo (Star Trek Deep Space 9)
This tournament is not meant to cause any shipwars or spread hate. Please stay kind when sharing your opinions on the submitted ships.

Why people wished they stayed platonic:
Myka Bering and Pete Latimer
They had a very strong sibling-like relationship for the majority of the show, Mykaâs actor wanted her character to be in a relationship with a different (female) character, the characters were literally so platonic they slept in the same bed naked when they knew theyâd wake up without their memories to make their future selves investigate what had happened because they knew there was no way theyâd ever sleep together and were, in fact, actively disgusted at the idea. It was only in the last season they became romantic and Iâm fairly sure the entire cast rejects the entire season anyway.
For the first four seasons they were disgusted at the idea of being a sexual/romantic couple and I understand that the showrunner was trying to go for a "methinks she doth protest too much" vibe but that's not how the actors played it! They worked so well as having an annoying-siblinglike relationship and then the last half season spedrun a romance and it didn't work at all.
Plus Myka is clearly into girls (might be bi but isn't into Pete) and her relationship with Helena (canonically bi) at all times had SO much chemistry. Bering & Wells forever.
The final season suddenly shoved them together as a way of ending things and it was rushed and unnecessary. There was a bit of a will-they/won't-they early on but that had seemingly settled into them being great partners and friends. Also Bering & Wells forever!
1: There's an entire episode where the plot is that they leave proof something is wrong by making it look like they hooked up, which is completely out of character. 2: Myka had a nearly-canon girlfriend and the show was already canceled when they put her and Pete together for the finale.
They were such a fun duo, perfect platonic (work) partners who meant a lot to each other but it didn't have to get romantic. Many fans think Myka in particular had much more romantic chemistry with someone else, and to some people Pete and Myka getting together was a surprise and/or disappointment.
I just think that having a strong, meaningful friendship would have worked just as well for them.
A beautiful supportive platonic male female friendship that was built up over many seasons who were shoved into a relationship in the last few episodes to follow up on romantic tension that had been dropped after season 1
For four seasons they reference to each other as âlike siblings,â seemed to have no romantic interest in each other even hinted at, there were episodes where the gimmick revolves around the fact that they werenât into each other sexually or romantically, and then in season 5, at the eleventh hour, they suddenly realized theyâd been in love with each other all along. It made no sense. Who was asking for that? Also Myka had been fairly strongly implied to be in love with someone else for several seasons, but that person was a woman. Cold feet, I think.
Kira Nerys and Odo
Odo is CLEARLY married to Quark, and Kira and Dax should have gotten together, but it was the 90s, they couldnât embrace the homoeroticism :(
"That sounds so exciting... do you wanna get a chai latte?" Has me giggling so much. It's such a good soundbite. Not to mention the 42nd Street dance sequence music, and that perfectly executed "Endless Wonder" fade out đ
