Great thing about the term "Ennead" and it's original Egyptian equivalent "Pesedjet," they both mean "nine," which makes sense because the original group they're referring to is nine gods. BUT it was also used to describe groups of gods that were more or less than nine.
So, for example you have the Pesedjet Weret, the Elder Nine, who are all of the gods in Upper Egypt. Like all of them. Which, low ball estimate, has got to be at least several hundred gods. This Ennead is also called the Pesedjet Nedjest, the Small Nine, in contrast to the Big Nine (Pesedjet At), which is the original group of nine from before, but is also all the gods in Lower Egypt.
Together these two Enneads make the Pesedjety, the Double Nine. Which is all of the gods.
