Personal Mission Statement
As a first generation first responder with a background as a firefighter and EMT, my aim is to refine my abilities and extend my reach in public security by enrolling for a Criminal Justice degree at St. Thomas Aquinas College. It is my aspiration that one day I will become a law enforcement officer in order to be able to serve and protect my community effectively while utilizing my past hands on experience and new knowledge to make it safer and more just. Through higher learning and training programs, I want to reinforce my commitment to emergency response by upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism throughout my future career as a police officer.

Contentment
I want a lot of things; I want reliability in my job, finances, and relationships, I want to own a house, have pets and a partner, I want to maintain my independence, I want a healthy and steady work/life balance.
To gain all of these things I need to prioritize a few things. First and foremost, I need to take care of myself, mentally and physically; and I need to commit to that unending and difficult process. I want to become more proactive, work on taking those initial steps to achieve my goals. I need to keep doing well in school for preparedness and to keep my academic scholarship, and I need to lock down an internship for this summer. Long-term, those two things will allow me to have that work and financial stability. And taking care of myself will allow me to develop meaningful relationships, find bits of joy in my career, ensure that I make time for hobbies and to explore my interests, achieve that work/life balance, and, ultimately, find contentment.
