The mortifying ordeal of making a young man blush and giggle in front of my mother. Like wth man get it together, you can't be making cow eyes RN.

Actually having a good day because my doctor listened to me and my notebook of concerns and immediately referred me out to get ultrasounds and to see orthopedics. Then mechanic said my car has a potential radiator leak but not draining the coolant fast enough to make driving dangerous as long as I keep the level topped up. Like yes both me and my car have problems but things are progressing in the direction of dealing with it within a reasonable timeline. I did fight with the Calibre program on my computer to get a decent comic conversion and gave up but at least I got further into fixing my settings!

Why did no one tell me Long Live Evil was this gd funny? She's living the SVSSS transmigration isekai style life and she's misquoting Loki? She's about the cutest, formerly terminal, edgelord and I need more evil laughs with her sus evil goons.

Weird tech moment: can't reach family by phone because the cell tower's generator is down again after thunder and windstorm. CAN reach them by Whatsapp because the Internet is satellite link. I remember how wild it was to get cell phone service there just a decade~ ago and now there's sat-linked Internet.

Also confessing to writing fanfic for stories that piss me off was not on the agenda for book club but I guess that's where we're at.

Librarians getting so excited when I tell them I work in a library and then I shoot down their expectations by following up with 'corporate library' and 'morally reprehensible'...like listen man I also wish to have worked in my field of study but also it is very competitive and a bloodbath in terms of grants being pulled and I still have mouths to feed.

Alex Segura's Enemy of My Enemy might be the first physical, hardcopy fiction book I've finished entirely in a long while. I've been jumping between library audio and e books for fiction for years ATP and mostly buying the hardcopy afterwards if I really liked it, so I didn't realize I'd only read comic books and nonfiction books in physical form all the way through for so long. (Actually I forgot I did read AVP and Batman Arkham Knight novelizations but they don't count). And it's because this reads like a fanfic. It's so low stakes and I'm already familiar with the characters, but not the story so I stay engaged. I just one more chaptered my way past my bedtime last night and cook dinner time today.

Watching Xena to feel better and yeah I do feel better watching the Amazons and the centaurs join together to beat the men trying to get them to fight each other. Chatterbox Gabrielle constantly glazing Xena to their new allies also good.
