I’ve become very good at being complacent and letting myself drift through life as though I am on auto-pilot. The thirst and vigor for life (as well as my goals which I think of but don’t take active steps toward) seem to have fallen to the back burner for far too long now. This is a dangerous pattern because you can zombie-live your life as a habit, and before you know it, you are looking back at your life and wondering why you’re still in the exact same spot.
Being a Taurus, change is very hard for me. I’m stubborn and like the security of knowing things are going to be the same, comfortable lull that I can depend on. Whatever changes that life throws my way, I am the same person, and I can take peace of mind in that.
But as I’ve grown older, I've realized that change is a good thing. It is scary and unknown but it’s the only way to grow as a person. And although I still like certain things to stay the same, myself no longer fits in that category.
So, to help myself change for the better so I can be a happier, more confident being, I’m going to be writing down some of the goals I have so I can take active steps in making my dreams come true.
And here they are:
Start writing my own guided meditations (also release some on iTunes to help others as well)
Sell all of my clothes that I no longer want online
Read at least 1 fiction book a month
Take a 1 hour long walk while listening to an audio book (or podcast or guided meditation and take the time to look at and really see nature)
Listen to a guided meditation every morning for at least 15 minutes
Make writing a daily habit and set a timer for at least 15 minutes
Exercise at least 3 days a week at the gym for weight training
Connect with someone every day and make sure they feel loved
Make eating healthy, whole foods an enjoyable habit
Get out of the diet mentality and make nutrients (not calories) my goal
Read my positive affirmations every day
Before I go to sleep, recall the things I’ve grateful for that day
Find different charities and donate to one every month
Always be actively reading a nonfiction book (whether it be a memoir, personal growth book, or something I’m interested in learning) Note: there is no time limit attached to this goal
In preparation for college, jump start on studying by writing different styles of essays, researching graphic design tactics online, and learn how to use my time wisely and to be productive
Put more time, energy and creativity in making videos for YT
Start writing down my goals and plans for the week to keep myself accountable
